“Okay, before we sing the alphabet song.
Can you still remember our lesson last week
about the 26 letters of the alphabet?” Pupils reply, “yes, teacher.”
“Angelica and Tricxie, if you still remember,
will you please help each other arrange these
Big and small letters here in the front?” “Both reply, yes, teacher.”
Very Good! Now, please be seated.
Motivation
(The pupils will sing the alphabet song while
pointing the letters)
“Okay, class, before we start our today’s (pupils singing the song)
lesson. First, let's sing the alphabet song.
Presentation
“Our today’s lesson is about identifying letter
names and sounds of formed words.”
Discussion
You know students, that if the letters are
grouped they form words like the letters C A
and T. We can form the word Cat.
The Cat starts with the letter C and the
sound of letter C is? c c c... Pupils copying the sound from their teacher.
Next to the letter C is? “Angelica replied, Letter A, teacher.”
What letter, Angelica? Very Good!
And the sound of the letter A is?
What sound of the letter A? a a a... “a a a”
The last letter is letter, what letter, Tricxie? “Tricxie replied, Letter T.”
Very Good! Letter T and the sound of letter
T is? t t t...
And now trace with your fingers the word
Cat, Angelica and also you, Tricxie...
V. Evaluation
This assessment will help the students to memorize, read and write the letters of their names.
VI. Assignment:
The students will answer their homework at home for helping them master their own names and let them
practice their writing skill to prepare them for the next lesson “writing letters and words.”
