1. PURPOSE
This standard summarizes the format and usage of multiple sheet drawings on CNH Industrial Agricultural
and Construction Equipment Product Engineering drawings.
2. SCOPE
CNH Industrial Ag/CE Product Engineering drawings must document the design requirements of a part or
assembly. When the documentation exceeds the available space on an approved drawing form the
recommended procedure is to move to a larger drawing form if possible. In addition, the designer may
choose to add another form resulting in a multiple sheet drawing. This document has been created to
serve as a reference with regard to multiple sheet drawing practices and is intended for use by CNH
Industrial Ag/CE, its subsidiaries, joint ventures, design services or agencies.

5. GENERAL
It must be noted that a Product Engineering drawing often serves as a legal document that conveys part or
assembly design requirements. As a result, the drawing must provide readability when being reproduced.
It is recommended that a design engineer display all of the required information for a part or an assembly
on a single sheet and must choose an appropriate size form for displaying the appropriate views,
dimensions, tolerances, notes, symbols and parts lists as needed.
However, at some point, the design engineer may need to expand the drawing space by either moving to a
larger drawing form or by adding an additional sheet to the drawing. In most instances, increasing the form
size is sufficient because it doubles the drawing size. When using the A0 form, it is preferable to use an
additional sheet as opposed to creating a two-frame roll drawing. The drawing viewer system may display
the roll size drawing as single sheet and this single sheet is typically more difficult to read or print than two
A0 forms shown as sheets 1 and 2.
Most CNH Ag/CE Drawing Standards will include a comment on how the multiple sheet approach relates to
the subject at hand. The following is a list of standards and related comments that should be used as a
reference to ensure the multiple sheet drawing is being created in accordance with CNH Ag/CE Drawing
Standards.

5.1 FUNDAMENTAL USE
CNH Drawing Standard DWGA100 – Drawing Sheet Sizes and Formats supports the use of multiple
sheets and multiple rolls.
Where the need to convey additional information requires it, a multiple sheet drawing may be made.
Wherever practical, all sheets should be the same size. All sheets or rolls of a multiple sheet drawing must
be maintained at the same, latest revision level. To prevent misinterpretation on a multiple sheet drawing,
the date shown on the topmost line of the change description must be identical on all sheets.
All sheets of a multiple sheet drawing must be sequentially numbered beginning with the number one (1).
Where roll drawings exceed four sections in length, they are to be made on more than one roll drawing.
Second, third, etc. rolls must begin with a title block. Sections must be numbered in succession from the
first section of the first roll to the last section of the last roll. The section number in the title block on
continuing rolls will agree with the numbering sequence for the complete drawing (i.e., will not start over
again with “1”). This requirement may be waived if a CAD system does not permit it.
5.2 TITLE BLOCK
CNH Drawing Standards DWGA100 - Drawing Sheet Sizes and Formats and CNH DWGA101 – Supplier
Drawing Forms define the size and location of a title block field labeled SHEET. It also documents what
should be entered and that this is a mandatory field. In addition, the standards state each sheet or roll of a
multiple sheet drawing must contain a title block.
CNH Drawing Standard DWGA100 also states that on multiple roll CAD drawings, a title block must be
used in place of a section block on the FIRST section of each continuing roll. This will reduce the number
of roll size forms that must be provided on the computer graphics system. The section number in the title
block on continuing rolls will agree with the numbering sequence for the complete drawing (i.e. will not start
over again with “1”). This requirement may be waived if a CAD system does not permit it.
Sheet number and total sheet title block information must be complete and correct.
5.3 APPLICABLE STANDARDS BLOCK
Per CNH Drawing Standard DWGA100 and CNH Drawing Standard DWGA101, the Applicable Standards
Block is displayed on Sheet 1 and only Sheet 1 on multiple sheet drawings.
5.4 SUPPLIER DRAWINGS
CNH Drawing Standard DWGA101 supports the use of multiple sheets.
CNH Ag/CE supplier drawing form(s) may be attached to an existing part drawing or may be used to create
a new multiple sheet drawing as needed. Wherever practical, all sheets are to be the same size. The
revision level, assigned by CNH Industrial Ag/CE, must be the same for all sheets or rolls.
Per CNH Drawing Standard DWGA120, when releasing a supplier drawing results in a multiple sheet
drawing the releasing revision level must be identical to the final revision level of the other sheets or rolls
upon completion of the release.
A multiple sheet drawing imposes an additional circulation requirement on Purchasing, since Purchasing
must review all sheets of a multiple sheet drawing to identify which sheets may be circulated. For details,

see CNH Drawing Standard DWGA125 – Document Source Management on Drawings and Parts
Categorization.
In addition, there are three individual constructs where multiple sheet drawings can be used in conjunction
with supplier prints. The constructs listed below are defined in CNH Drawing Standard DWGA125.
• Single supplier providing a print with multiple sheets — circulation restricted
• CNH Industrial standard form with no circulation restrictions and single supplier providing a print
• CNH Industrial standard form with no circulation restrictions and multiple suppliers providing prints
A multiple sheet drawing may be used when displaying alternate interchangeable designs from different
sources by using a separate sheet for each source. For details, see CNH Drawing Standard DWGA125.
5.5 NOTES ON DRAWINGS
Per CNH Drawing Standard DWGA115 – Notes on Drawings, general notes must be located on the first
sheet. On multiple sheet roll drawings, the notes must be located in the first section of the first sheet.
According to CNH Drawing Standard DWGA115 flag notes are shown on a multiple sheet drawing, pointer
note text must be inserted within parenthesis. This pointer note text displays the sheet number or numbers
where the flag note symbol is applied (flag note symbol on the notes region does not count). If the note
applies only to sheet 1 of the multiple sheet drawing, this pointer note text may be omitted, but when
applied to sheet 1 and some other sheet(s) the point note is necessary and must include sheet 1.
5.6 REVISION HISTORY BLOCK
Per CNH Drawing Standard DWGA100 and CNH Drawing Standard DWGA101, the Revision History Block
is displayed on every sheet on multiple sheet drawings.
Per CNH Drawing Standard DWGA120 – Drawing Revision Practices, each sheet or roll of a multiple sheet
drawing must contain a revision block.
A maximum of two (2) revision history blocks are permitted on a single sheet. Adding additional revision
blocks is prohibited. A designer may add extra sheets creating a multiple sheet drawing for the sole
purpose of obtaining additional revision history blocks
Changes must be recorded on the sheet(s) or roll(s) affected. Unaffected sheets or rolls will contain a
notation such as SEE SHEETS 1 & 3 FOR CHANGES as a pointer stating which sheets were revised. For
details, see CNH Drawing Standard DWGA120.
The phrase PRELIMINARY DRAWING must be placed on each sheet of a multiple sheet drawing when an
image of the drawing is being created for the purpose of circulation prior to drawing release.
The phrase RELEASED DRAWING must be placed on each sheet of a multiple sheet drawing when an
image of the drawing is being created to indicate that the drawing is released.
A single sheet drawing becomes a multiple sheet drawing when a second sheet (or more) is added. This
includes a drawing to which a CNH Drawing Standard DWGA101 supplier drawing form has been added
as Sheet 2 in accordance with CNH Drawing Standard DWGA125 – Use of Supplier Drawings.

When adding or removing a sheet or roll to a drawing with an existing image in a drawing viewing system
the appropriate phrase must be placed on all sheets. For details, see CNH Drawing Standard DWGA120.
5.7 VESYS DRAWINGS
VeSys Schematic Drawings and VeSys Harness Drawings have some unique features based on the
special needs of this type of drawings; they have their specific requirements for multiple sheet drawings.
For details, see CNH Drawing Standard DWGA410 – VeSys Schematic Drawings and CNH Drawing
Standard DWGA420 – VeSys Harness Drawings.
5.8 GENERAL TOLERANCES
CNH Drawing Standard DWGB105 – General Tolerances contain no multiple sheet comments. The same
tolerance callout will be used on all sheets of a multiple sheet drawing. The CNH supplier drawing form is
exempt from this requirement.
5.9 DRAWINGS FOR METAL PARTS FORMED BY BENDING
CNH Drawing Standard DWGB130 — Drawings for Metal Parts Formed by Bending supports the use of a
multiple sheet drawing.
Although the single sheet drawing is permitted, good drafting practice and readability dictate that a multiple
sheet drawing may be needed to display a formed metal part.
With this approach, all orthographic views and associated dimensions are displayed on the first sheet or
sheets until the formed metal part is completely defined. If possible, the required isometric view is placed
on the first sheet otherwise it is displayed on a following sheet. The flat view of the developed flat pattern
or blank is shown on a following sheet.
The multiple sheet drawing brings a uniform approach to displaying the required part information and as a
result, the multi-frame roll drawing is no longer permitted and is not to be used.
5.10 SIGNIFICANT CHARACTERISTICS
The component classification codes CNH1 or CNH2, along with the information (numbers) in the
CRITICAL/TOTAL SC'S field, must be appear on each sheet of a multiple sheet drawing. See CNH
Engineering Procedure ENPJ100 – Significant Characteristics – Application Procedures.
6. IMPLEMENTATION
All CNH Industrial Ag/CE drawings first revision published on the corporate drawing viewer system after
the Engineering Release date of this revision of CNH DWGA112 must be drawn in accordance with this
document.
All CNH Industrial Ag/CE drawings released prior to the publication and adoption of this standard need not
be modified but can retain their original drawing note practices.
All revised CNH Industrial Ag/CE drawings are to follow instructions as provided in CNH Drawing Standard
DWGA120 – Drawing Revision Practices.
It is in the best interest of CNH Industrial to implement recommended practices as these may become
mandatory in future revisions of this standard, whereas, alternate practices may no longer be allowed.
