Introduction
The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted routines, businesses and lives around the
world at a speed and scope that few were willing to imagine. As of this writing, we
are nearing 1,000,000 cases recorded globally with no immediate sign of
containment. Estimates for the impact of the virus on the US economy currently
forecast unemployment of up to 20%, a drop in GDP of 6% in the first quarter and
24% in the second quarter of 2020. Shock waves will rock the global economy in
the foreseeable future. Every day we are making decisions about family and
business that are difficult and unfamiliar. We know that the health situation will
evolve, though the timeline is uncertain today. And we know that we will come
back to some sense of normalcy. However, when the smoke clears, what will the
landscape look like for us all, and what are the implications for higher education?
Looking more specifically at higher education, I would speculate that there is
nothing that is totally unforeseen in the future. Our centuries-old industry will
continue to focus on research and students will continue to seek the credibility and
credentials associated with the piece of parchment at the end of the path.

The trend towards online learning has been clear over the last several years, but it
will rapidly expand across all subject areas and program types. The speed and scale
at which universities moved online in reaction to the crisis was impressive and
shows that universities can adapt to face unforeseen situations. Advances in EdTech
will improve the learner experience, creating highly engaging interactions which
create deeper social connections. Schools who can rapidly deploy digital solutions
will have an advantage. Online learning will be a risk-mitigating factor, a means to
ensure learning continuity and a response to the new context of reduced mobility
and economic constriction. As adoption accelerates, digital learning technologies
will advance and continue to improve the learning experience to create a virtuous
cycle.
Lower enrollment, the loss of international tuition revenue, decrease in fundraising
and scaling back of corporate learning will affect most institutions. With the In the
new normal we have become even more connected via technology and heavily
reliant on technology and learning applications. Learning has moved online, and
new social engagement tools have been integrated economic downturn, shrinking
endowment returns will impact operating budgets, just as the costs of litigation (did
you really need to kick me out of the dorms?) will increase. Loss of revenue will
not be offset by higher tuition—in fact, it will be the opposite as schools will need
to increase scholarship awards and provide significant tuition reductions to maintain
enrollment numbers. Some estimates (Chronicle of Higher Education) see 20% of
institutions closing in the US, so expect an acceleration of consolidation in the
industry. Concern over employability have pushed universities to focus on hard
skills, closing some departments deemed to be less practical and adding tech skills
to curricula. Students will demand more of this as employability and career
progression become key elements in the choice of schools. Career services will
become strategic value drivers, increasing their corporate partnerships,
experimenting with new business models and increasing their investment in tech
tools and resources. Private-academic learning partnerships will increase as job-
relevant content integrates curricula.

customize the learning experience and increase impact. Blockchain will improve
assessment and facilitate credential evaluation. Data analytics will provide deep
insights into learner beha viors, feeding learning design. Virtual and augmented
reality will enhance connectivity between student and teacher and between students.

COMPREHENSIVE BRIEF
HISTORY OF FCIC

The Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception (FCIC) is a privately owned

educational institution in Baybay City, Leyte, Philippines. It is currently operated
and maintained by the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration based in Olpe,
Germany through the cooperation of the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual
Adoration in Mishawaka, Indiana, USA. It is dedicated to Immaculate Conception,
which is believed that she is having no any stain ("macula" in Latin) of Original
Sin.[1]
The college has a school on campus, offering education from kindergarten through
to high school, and is accredited by the Philippine Accrediting Association of
Schools, Colleges and Universities.
In May 1947, the late Bishop Miguel Mascariñas, D.D., Bishop of Palo, the Parish
Priest of Baybay, Fr. Flaviano Daffon and a group of Baybayanons - Dr. Jose Silao,
Sr., Mr. Amado Masecampo, Atty. Jovencio Borneo, Ex-Mayor Apolinario Tavera
and several others convened at the Parish Convent decided to establish a Catholic
School to be administered by a religious order. While waiting for the availability of
a religious group, the school was run by lay people and classes were conducted in a
rented house of Segundo Borneo at A. Bonifacio St. Thus, the Immaculate
Conception College (ICC) was born on July 22, 1947 with the following Board of
Trustees and Incorporators who are now all deceased:
. Bernardo Torres served as the First School Director until 1945 when he retired
following his election as governor of Leyte. The school leadership was then passed
on to Father Esteban Justimbante, the Parish Priest of Baybay. In 1956, the
Franciscan fathers of the province of St. John the Baptist, Cincinnati, Ohio, U.S.A.,
arrived in the Philippines through the invitation of Bishop Lino Gonzaga, D.D., the
bishop of Palo. The Franciscan Fathers assumed the administration of the school
with Fr. Brice Mulroy, OFM, serving as director from 1956 to 1961 and from 1963
to 1970; Father Vianney Brinkman, OFm, was the director from 1961 to 1963. Fr.
Elwin Harrongton, OFM, 1962–1963 and Fr. Brian irving, OFM, 1968–1969, were
acting directors. Other Franciscan friars have rendered years of service in FCIC.
They are the following: bro, Richard Kloster (Bursar), Fr. Madian Schneider
(Chaplain), Bro. Cletus Reider (Maintenance Supervisor) and Fr. Patrick MacAuley
(Religious Supervisor and Chaplain).
To reinforce the school teaching staff, the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration,
Mishawaka, Indiana, USA., were invited to the Philippines to help in the Education Industry.
The four (4) pioneering sisters who came on October 11, 1962 were: Sister Denise Stolinski,
OSF (High School Principal), Sister Mary Paul Pfautsch, OSF (Guidance Counselor), Sister M.
Annette Crone, OSF (Medical and Dental Clinic Supervisor) and Sister M. Mark Orgon, OSF
(Grade School Principal). Two other American sisters joined the staff in the later years, namely;
Sister M. Joseph Ann Vogel, OSF, who arrived in 1969 and has been a Guidance Counselor,
College Teacher & Piano Teacher and Sister M. Dianne Zimmer, OSF, who served as College
Dean from 1974 to 1976.
With the vision of providing good education and the commitment to serve Baybay in the
education apostolate, the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration purchased FCIC from the
Franciscan fathers in 1970, but the turn-over was the following year. Thus, January 1, 1971
marked a new era in the educational life of the Franciscan College of the Immaculate
Conception (FCIC) as well as in the history of the OSF sisters, whose convent and formation
house are located some meters from the school. The directorship of the school was assumed by
Sister Mary Paul Pfautsch, OSF.
As the Filipinization of schools in the Philippines became an urgent national issue in 1976, the
leadership of the school was transferred to qualified Filipino Administrators. The school
directorship was held by the following sisters:
Sister M. Grace Gerong, OSF - 1976 - 1984
Sister M. Catherine Dean, OSF - 1984 - 1989
Sister M. Rose Otic, OSF - 1989 - 1991
Sister M. Teresita Lopez, OSF - 1991 - 1995
Sister M. Veronica Tulipas, OSF - 1995 - 2004
In S.Y. 2004 - 2005, the organizational set-up of the school was changed such that a President
heads the school. In the same school year, Sister M. Adrianne Siano, OSF, was installed as the
first School President of FCIC. On April 13, 2009, Sister M. Teresita Lopez, OSF assumed the
position as President. In the S.Y. 2013 - 2014, the organizational set up was returned to
directorship and Sister M. Teresita Lopez, OSF was retained as head of the school. Starting the
Academic Year 2014 - 2015, Sister M. Grace Gerong, OSF held the said position.
The typhoon "Amy" destroyed the original building of ICC. When the Franciscan Fathers
assumed ownership, a new site was purchased along Andrés Bonifacio Street. New buildings
were constructed on the seven-hectare school area: a three-story main building, the shop and the
canteen. His Eminence Rufino J. Cardinal Santos blessed them on February 22, 1961.
Simultaneously, the school was renamed Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception.
The College gymnasium was completed in the year 1967. The music building graced the
campus in 1972 and the Chaplain's residence in 1977. The Grade School building was
completed on September 30, 1981. Additional buildings have been added to extend better and
new services to the school populace - the Bonzel Health and Nutrition Center together with the
Non-Formal Education Building in 1994 and the Learning Resource Center in 1995. The latest
structure was blessed by Archbishop Gian Vincenzo Moreni, Apostolic Nuncio of the
Philippines, during his pastoral visit on July 27, 1995. The construction of a separate school
Chapel and the Covered walks from the comfort rooms to the main gate were completed in
1996 and 1998 respectively. The most recent was the completion of the Alumni Center in 2016.

I’m approaching to become a professional CVILENGER because of my long term sincere

prepare to take off and lands on our desire’s to have the admission in and what scholarships are
possible and available for me

One of our performance tasks is to participate the job interview conducted by our subject
teacher, Ms,sharen abreo bergado. A job interview comprising with a formal conference
between a job applicant and a representative of an employer which is conducted to assess
whether the applicant should be hired.interviews are one of the most essential requirement to
justify appilicant who really deserves to have the opportunity to become the employee. We had
to submit all the papers and resume, application letter before we could partake in a job
interview. A resume is one of the prominently needed document created as use by a applicants
represents as an biography of that employee and also represent the background, skills and
accomplishments, where as an application letter is an document sent with your resume to
provide additional bases on the information on your skills and experience. After creating a
resume and an application letter. I realized that it is the important skills that I have and how
they would be useful in my future career. I was also able to experience the whole atmosphere of
being interviewed for my desired positions after participating in job interview.

replied that im about to have an online module since that I was very late to enrolled and not
knowing the protocol and then it was a little bit surprisingly to me to have this kind of education
system and then I was comforting my self that I can do this until im about to graduate proceed
