DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES


▪ To ensure that all the inspections, surveillance for Electrical Power & Instrument systems as per
approved ITPs, Project technical specifications, NEC and other related international standards.
▪ Material Inspections as a `Vendor Inspector` such as Transformers, Switchgears, MCCs, Panels,
Digital control units, Cables, Submarine cables, Cable trays, Conduits and Lighting fixtures at
factory/vendor locations prior to the delivery of material.
▪ Inspection, Testing & pre-commissioning activities as per NEC, NFPA70, 72, ANSI, NEMA, IEC & BS
Standards (Review scope of work, Project quality plan & procedures and Electrical drawings
related to the scope of project).
▪ Regular reporting and discussion with the Quality Manager on major issues which require
immediate action.
▪ Ensure proper Quality implementation as per the required Standards.
▪ Issue Surveillance and Non-conformance reports (NCR) if the activities were not found as per the
required Standards or Specification.
▪ To ensure that all inspection and test records are properly documented.
▪ To ensure inspections before & during construction and at the time of testing / pre-
commissioning of Switchgears, MCCs, Power transformers, Panels, Power/Control/Instrument
cables to be done as per the project requirement.
▪ Inspections for the Installation of Grounding system as per NEC-250 with ground resistance tests.
▪ Inspection for the Installation of cable tray as per NEMA-VE2 standard.
▪ Inspection for the Installation of conduits (RGS, EMT & PVC coated RGS) as per ANSI C80.1and
PVC as per NEMA TC 6 & 8.
▪ Inspection for the Material receiving, Installation, Testing & Pre-commissioning of Fire alarm
system as per NFPA 72.
▪ To ensure all inspections for the installation & Testing of CCTV, Audio/Video, Lighting system,
Distribution/Control panels and Electrical equipment to be done as per the required standards.
▪ Witness and verify Continuity, Magger, HI-POT testing for Medium & Low voltage equipment.
▪ Documents review & Witness equipment testing according to PTS, QCP & ITPs.
▪ Established field inspection & testing procedures for equipment as assistant of senior engineers.
▪ Exception items submitted through the Mechanical & Performance Close-out System (PMCS).
▪ Final Mechanical Completion Certificate (FMCC) - Participate in Final Inspection, Processing &
Updating of QC Documentation, QC Dossier and Implementing the QC plan for projects.
▪ QA/QC documents, specifications review/verify as per standard procedures.
▪ Perform routine Surveillance, Quality control inspections during construction activities at various
stages such as Prior and after Installation, Testing/Pre-commissioning and Final inspection for
Electrical equipment/systems.
▪ Evaluation/reviewed test Packages, Dossiers, walkthrough & Punch list preparation and clearance
with clients.
▪ Attend kick-off meetings as per agenda for the new activities and to understand & monitor the
contractors action plan.
▪ Assist in the successful completion of erection, installation, commissioning and flawless start-up
and normal operational activities.
▪ Monitor electrical scope of work and resource requirements for project completion and
coordinating with other discipline engineers.
▪ Coordination with affiliate discipline representative and contractor personnel to make the job
easy for execution.
▪ Conduct meeting with contractor’s construction persons to find out the reasons for the delays
and resolve issues.
▪ Review (ITP) Inspection and Test plan, prior to start of construction activities at site.
▪ Coordination with contractor and receive the Request for inspection from contractor as per ITP,
when the systems are ready for inspection.
▪ Supervised installation of MV&LV switchgear, ATS, Power & Lighting control/distribution panels.
