Introductory Message
Welcome to Grade 7 Arts – Arts and Craft of Calabarzon and Bicol Region
The Art Learning Guide is a product of the collaborative efforts of the Division of
Iloilo Secondary MAPEH Teachers Association (DISMTA) and the Iloilo Division
MAPEH Coordinators Association (IDIMCA) writers, illustrators, layout artists,
reviewers, editors, and Quality Assurance Team from the Department of Education,
Schools Division of Iloilo. This is developed to guide you dear learning facilitators in
helping our learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum.

Balisong– also know as butterfly knife. This is a type of knife that can be folded closed
like a fan and comes in different sizes.
Calado– “burda” is painstakingly made by three groups of people- the designer, the
embroiderer and the cutter.
Higantes–big papiermache human figures such as farmers, fishermen and workers of
Angono, Rizal
Kiping–colorful decors, traditionally used during the Pahiyas, that are made from
ground glutinous rice thinly coated on special leaves and cooked over low fire.
