A. Introduction Sports gives plenty of benefits to the body. However sometimes injuries

B. Development 40 minutes Engaging in sports has a lot risk injury. The greater contact, the greater
Pagpapaunlad injury. Sprain and strain are common that can occur anytime and anywhere.
Safety practices lessen the chances of these injuries, like following rules and
regulations of the game, proper using of facilities and just knowing the sports
safety tips.
General Sports Safety Tips

A. Warm-up- is a very important mechanics before the beginning of a game


or practices. Make sure to undergo in a proper warm-up to loosen up
especially your muscles. It can help prevent cramps and strains.

B. Safety gear and Equipment- such as helmets, shin-elbow-knee pads, mouth
guards and protective pads should fit properly and must be in good
condition. The playing area should be free from harmful debris that can
harm during the games. Equipment such as goals, baskets and bat should
be in good working condition. Bruises and concussion or any injuries can
prevent by using this equipment properly.

C. Proper Hydration- replaced the sweat lost during sports or any physical
activities. It is essential to drink water or any fluids before, during or after the
practice or game. Drinking fluids can prevent from dehydration or even
cramps. Avoid drinking fluids with carbonation and caffeine.

D. First Aid- is very important in sports to cover minor injuries and other possible
life-threatening injuries.

Learning Task 1: Read the following sentences and write TRUE if it is correct and
FALSE if incorrect. Write your answer in your notebook.

Playing is a lot of fun but hurting during games is not. Make sure to take
safety precaution. Know the rules and regulation of the game and even on how
to use the sports facilities.

Learning Task 2: Create a Slogan about Safety while playing and how to use
properly the sports facilities.
