A. ACTIVITY

Review about the Previous lesson: Students should be able to share their knowledge
about the discussion last meeting.

B. ANALYSIS

PERFORMANCE TASK #1 (GROUP REPORTING)


Write a poem in any topic. The poem must have these following Elements of Poetry;
1. Figure of speech (The poem must have five different figure of speech)
2. Form (Four stanza with four lines in each)
3. The poem must have rhyme.
4. Explain what diction used in your poem.
POETRY REPORTING RUBRIC:

Content -50
Grammar, Spelling and Form (It should be 4 stanzas with four lines each) -20
Presentation (Shows mastery of the topic) -15
Creativity/ Group participation -15
TOTAL: 100 pts.
C. ABSTRACTION
SOUNDS TECHNIQUES’

1. Sounds- Identity of sound between syllables or paired group of syllables,


usually at the end of poem’s line.
Ex: There was an old woman who swallowed a fly.
I don’t know why.
She swallowed the fly.
Perhaps she’ll die.

2. Alliteration- Repetition of the beginning consonant sound within the line of a


poem.
Ex: The snake slithered silently along the sunny sidewalk.

3. Assonance- The repetition of a word with vowel sound within the line of a
poem.
Ex: That is the way we will pray today, okay?

4. Consonance- Repetition of consonant sounds within or at the end of words.


Ex: The black sack is in the back.

D. APPLICATION

Written task 2:

Some poems use techniques of sounds such as:


A. Rhymes
B. Alliteration
C. Assonance
D. Consonance

Task:
 Search and define Rhymes, Alliteration, Consonance, and Assonance
using your own words. Explain it in two or more sentences.
 Write it in any paper, digital app, or msword. (2 pts. Each)
 After that, construct your own example regarding to the sound
devices/techniques mentioned above.
 One example sentence in Rhymes, Alliteration, Assonance, and
Consonance. (2pts. each)
 Total points: 15

DEADLINE: Nov.11, at exactly 9:00 AM.
