1. INTRODUCTION 2. NODE DESCRIPTION

1.1 General 2.1 General

This document describes the N415 node (S30826-B22-X). The N415 node has a modular structure, see Figure 1:

The N415 node can be used in OTN-X3M and can operate

in a network that has N42(C) nodes as well.

N415 nodes are equipped with the Node Support Module S4

2.5.2 Cooling Fans

Two cooling fans are installed in each N415 node and are
progressively switched at reduced or full speed, depending
on the temperature in the nodes.

One independently driven set of red and green LEDs is

provided for each fan.

The rotation speed of the fans is measured and compared

to the fan configuration, which results in two possible states
for each fan: the measured and the configured state.

The configured state depends on the node temperature.

The measured state matches the configured state,

which is indicated by the corresponding green LED on
the front panel being lit. This is also the case, when the
fan has stopped because the proper temperature has
been reached.

The measured state does not match the configured

state, which is indicated by the corresponding red LED
on the front panel being lit.
