Empowering States To Deport Illegal Immigrants Act

This bill would allow states to authorize state and local law enforcement officers to enforce federal immigration laws relating to unlawful entry into the United States. It effectively overrides the 2012 Supreme Court decision in Arizona v. United States that blocked a similar Arizona law. The bill also authorizes state prosecutors to bring criminal prosecutions for violations of these immigration laws in federal district court.
