Testing Policy
Either a quiz or a test will be given once a week I will be using a “same-day” policy so quizzes and tests must be
taken the same day they are given. If a student misses class he/she must take the quiz or test after school on the
same day. There will be no make-up quizzes ever! If a student is absent from school with, the following week’s
quiz will count as double. If a student misses two quizzes in a row, he/she will receive a zero. If a student
misses a test due to an excused absence, he/she must make up the test after school within 2 days of returning.
Fieldtrips and extracurricular activity will fall under the “same-day” policy. It is the responsibility of the
student to schedule a time to make up the test after school.
Classroom Expectations
 Know your role: You are in class to learn. Come to class prepared with paper and pencils daily
 Respect: Respect the classroom and everything inside it. Respect the teacher. Respect other students
 Trust: Trust that you will do your own work. Trust that you will not take any property that does not belong
to you. Trust that you will not cheat on your test.
 Try your best: Try your best by not giving up. Try your best and ask questions when you don’t
understand. Try your best by going to tutoring.

Cellphone Policy
Electric devices (cellphones and headphones) are not allowed in class!
You must place your cellphone(s) in the provided receptacles. You and
your cell phone will have the same seating assignment. If you do not have a
cellphone, insert a card instead for taking roll. By inserting the card, you
fully understand and agree to the consequences of the cellphone policy.

Math Notebook
Mathematicians use notebooks and journals to record data, illustrations, charts, graphs and notes on their
thinking. Part of being a good mathematics student is learning how to be organized. In order to aid with
organization we will be using math notebooks/binders. Notes for the semester are currently on School Loop.
Students have the option of printing the notes or copying the notes by hand and Students must bring the notes
into class every day.

Notebook/Binder Guidelines and Expectations

1. It must be neat and readable.
2. All work must be complete.
3. The notebook/binder must be organized (pages must be in order and have titles).
4. All handouts must be included.
5. You must write everything in complete sentences unless I specify otherwise.

Homework Assignments
I will assign homework/worksheets on Monday on either Aleks or Illuminate and they are due on
Wednesday or Thursday. I will grade your homework based on on the number of questions you get
correct. All questions on the homework are possible test/quiz questions so make sure you ask questions
if you do not understand. Treat each worksheet as a practice/take home test.
