FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)

1. Should abortion be legalized?
- It depends on one’s belief, culture, or country. In our country, Abortion is not acceptable nor permitted.
But if someone feels unable to raise a child with a serious illness or condition, they might be entitled
personally to an abortion if they feel that is the right choice for them.
2. Is physician-assisted suicide the same as euthanasia?
- No, physician-assisted suicide refers to the physician providing the means for death, most often with a
prescription. Euthanasia generally means that the physician would act directly, for instance by giving a
lethal injection, to end the patient's life.
3. How do contraceptives work?
- For birth control pills, the hormones prevent pregnancy by (1) Stopping or reducing ovulation (the release
of an egg from an ovary) and (2) Thickening cervical mucus to keep sperm from entering the uterus.
- For condoms, it keeps the semen (the fluid that contains sperm) from entering the vagina. The male
condom is placed on the penis when it becomes erect. It is unrolled all the way to the base of the penis
while holding the tip of the condom to leave some extra room at the end.
