NIPPON AQUA PRIMER SEALER UNDERCOAT
DESCRIPTION : Nippon Aqua Primer Sealer Undercoat is a water-based one step pre-
coat formulated with special acrylic polymer for good adhesion on multi-
purpose substrates
TYPE : Acrylic emulsion
COLOUR : White
FINISH : Matt
USES : Used as a multi-substrate sealer for both interior and exterior surfaces
such as masonry walls, ceilings, wood, metal and plastic
Application surfaces include:
Concrete and fiber board
Wooden doors, windows, furniture
Ferrous metal such as fences, piping and metal sheets
Plastic such as uPVC and PVC
FEATURES : Alkaline and efflorescence resistance
Non-toxic, does not contain lead, chrome and other heavy metals
Quick drying time
Good tannin stain resistance
Good coverage and hiding power
Good adhesion
Environmentally friendly paint certified under the Singapore Green
Building Product Certification Scheme
APPLICATION DATA
METHOD : Roller or brush
THEORETICAL COVERAGE : Approximately 10 – 11 m2 / litre (30 µ DFT / coat) depending on surface
texture, substrate porosity and method of application
DILUTION : No dilution is necessary for best performance
SURFACE PREPARATION : New or unpainted interior and exterior masonry surfaces :
a) Remove all imperfections and sand down for an even surface
b) Remove dust, contaminants or foreign matter with damp cloth
c) Allow surface to dry

Previously painted interior and exterior masonry surfaces :
a) Remove any loose, peeling or flaking paint using scrapper or
water jet wash whichever is suitable
b) Repair any imperfections. Fill cracks with suitable water-
resistant putty or filler and sand down to an even surface
c) Remove dust, contaminants or foreign matter with damp cloth
d) Remove oil or grease by solvent cleaning or mild detergent.
Allow surface to dry
e) If fungus, moss or mould is visible, use Nippon Anti-Fungus
Solution to treat the affected surface. Leave solution for at least
2 hours
f) Ensure that the previously painted surface is sound
g) If surface has a high gloss or semi-gloss finish, sand to remove
the high gloss to enable the new paint to adhere
New or unpainted dressed or raw exterior timber :
a) Remove all imperfections and sand for a smooth surface
b) Fill nail holes with a suitable, exterior grade water-resistant
wood filler
c) Remove dust and contaminants
Metal surfaces :
a) Thoroughly degrease and clean new metal surfaces (e.g.
galvanized iron) to remove oil or other contaminants using
suitable cleaning solvent
b) Allow to dry
For other metal surfaces which has rusted (e.g. mild steel), clean with
abrasive cloth to remove rust. Do not use steel wool. Use suitable
cleaning solvent to remove traces of impurities and contaminants before
applying a coat of suitable primer. Under non-aggressive indoor
conditions, the product can be used directly on clean metal surfaces.
Otherwise, apply a coat of Crystalux A/C Primer on the well-prepared
surfaces
Plastic surfaces :
a) Thoroughly degrease and clean new surfaces to remove oil or
other contaminants using suitable cleaning agent
b) Allow to dry
DRYING TIME : Surface dry - 30 minutes at 30 ⁰C
Hard dry - 2 hours at 30 ⁰C
OVERCOATING TIME : 2 hours under normal conditions
RECOMMENDED PAINTING : 1 coat Nippon Aqua Primer Sealer Undercoat
SYSTEM 2 coats Nippon Aqua Bodelac finish coat or any suitable water-
based topcoat
CLEANING : All equipments should be cleaned with water immediately after use

GENERAL INFORMATION
SOLID CONTENT : 58.0 ± 2.0 % by weight (based on white colour)
SPECIFIC GRAVITY : 1.38 ± 2.0 % kg / litre (based on white colour)
PACKING : 5 litres
STORAGE : Store in a tightly sealed container in a cool, dry place
SHELF LIFE : Up to 24 months in a tightly sealed container
PRECAUTION : Ensure good ventilation during application and drying of paint. Avoid
direct contact with sensitive skin. Use appropriate personal protective
equipment
