Lesson 1: FOLK ARTS AND DESIGNS IN LUZON
ELEMENTS OF ART
1. LINE- always have directions and are always moving.
2. SHAPE- a two dimensional art. Through lines you can form a shape.
3. FORM- it could be Three dimensional. It looks like it has size and volume that signifies visual weight.
4. SPACE- it provides visual formation to a certain object or art.
5. COLOR- decorative elements and a property of light.
6. VALUE- the lightness or thickness of a color.
7. TEXTURE- can be seen as rough, smooth, rugged or fine.
8. PERSPECTIVE- how you see the depth and distance of an art.
PRINCIPLES OF ART
1. HARMONY- is the unity or arrangement of consistent objects or ideas.
2. RHYTHM- in design, is the regular, uniform made through the repetition of a motif.
3. BALANCE- is a condition or quality which gives a feeling of rest, equilibrium, or stability.
4. PROPORTION- are generally expressed through ratios.
5. EMPHASIS- which tends to carry the eyes from the center of interest to the less important parts.
6. VARIETY- an arrangement of different things or object.
