7 Music on Hold (MOH) - OpenScape 4000 SoftGate as

Music on Hold or Announcement Source Provider

7.1 Feature Description

The OpenScape 4000 SoftGate can act as a music on hold (MOH) or
announcement source provider. It works in a similar way as external equipment
connected to an analog line. The OpenScape 4000 SoftGate provides virtual
SLMA board and virtual TMOM board with saved voice files which emulate real
SLMA and TMOM board with connected external music equipment. As music
source audio files are used (for requirements please refer to Section 7.2, “Service
Information”).

Music or announcement can be switched to any destination within OpenScape

4000 SoftGate (HFA phone, SIP phone, SIP trunk) as well as to any device in
another access point or host shelf (TDM phone, analog phone, …).

7.2 Service Information

Important Information for Upgrade
If some vSLMA circuits are already configured and upgrade is not done using
AMO REGEN it is necessary to delete all vSLMA circuits and configure them
again with AMO SSC and AMO RCSU.

Generation (Example)

Details
From Openscape 4000 V7 vSLMA and vTMOM boards have dedicated part
numbers and are able to access all four highways in the shelf. The AMO will
automatically replace previous used part numbers for when adding the vSLMA
and vTMOM boards with older part numbers.

The vSLMA board (Q2339-X) or vTMOM board (Q2340-X) can be configured into
one or more OpenScape 4000 SoftGate slots with standard AMO BCSU
command.

The supported features work as with a “real” SLMA/TMOM board.

Requirements for audio files

There are following requirements for the audio files:

• .wav format

• PCM16 encoding

• mono

• 8 kHz sampling rate

Circuit and feature configuration

The circuits and the whole features can be configured with AMO SSC or AMO
RCSU or AMO TSCSU in the same way as for real SLMA/TMOM board (see
feature documentation links in Section 7.1, “Feature Description”).

Audio file configuration

The audio files can be configured per circuit by OpenScape 4000 SoftGate WBM
Configuration > Announcements:

If the .wav file is loaded or changed for already active SLMA circuit, the circuit has
to be restarted using RES-DSSU to activate the new .wav file (also virtual board
or whole OpenScape 4000 SoftGate can be restarted).
