Emergency Preparedness Procedure

EARTHQUAKE

I. Prepare Before an Earthquake

1. Place heavier objects on lower shelves to prevent breakage and personal injury.
2. Bolt to walls anything that might topple, like top-heavy shelves, appliances, and
furniture.
3. Don't hang heavy frames or mirrors over the table.
4. Secure pipelines connections (steam, kerosene, water, air).
5. Familiarize control switches for all equipment, machines and utilities.
6. Designate and familiarize evacuation lay-out and first aid station.
7. Prepare first aid and emergency kit.
8. Conduct regular drill.

II. During an Earthquake

1. DO NOT PANIC
2. Performed DROP, COVER and HOLD ON.

3. IF YOU ARE INSIDE/INDOOR;


 Stay inside
 If possible stay away from glass windows, figurines and crack wall.
 Do not stand in a doorway.
 Stay under a table or chair.
 Perform Drop, Cover and Hold ON.

4. IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE/OUTDOOR;


 Do not go inside a building.
 Find a clear spot away from buildings, power lines and trees.
 DROP to the ground cover your head and neck
 And stay until the shaking stops.

5. IF YOU ARE IN A VEHICLE;


 Pull over to a clear location, away from power lines, trees and building
debris.
 Stop and stay there with your seatbelt fasten until the shaking has
stopped.

III. After an Earthquake

1. Activate emergency/fire alarm, located at control room, RK and WH section.
2. Immediately evacuate the building, refer to evacuation lay-out.
3. And proceed to pre-designated evacuation area (BASKETBALL COURT).
4. During evacuation avoid entering warehouses and passing on power lines.
5. If have injured (either you or your colleagues) inform medical or rescue team.
6. At evacuation area, form a line per section for the headcount.
7. Worker not in the evacuation area will be search and rescue.
8. Expect aftershock, so stay down and keep calm.
9. Emergency Response Team together with department heads will survey and
evaluate the plant premises.
10. Do not use the telephone except in an emergency.
11. Do not go home or return to the premises unless instructed by the Emergency
Response Team or the Plant Manager.
