ACI Deflection

This document contains calculations of deflection for two building components according to ACI 318M-99. For the first component, the calculated short-term deflection due to live load was within acceptable limits. However, for a roof supporting nonstructural elements, the total deflection may be too high. For the second component, the calculated deflections were higher. The total short-term and long-term deflection would be too great for a roof supporting nonstructural elements.
