About the Article:

As we move up the hierarchy ladder a decision-making process
becomes more complex hence decision makers can rely on cloud
computing for better decisions and to increase the efficiency of
the organization which in turn affects the holistic environment.

This article will contribute to achieve the following aims:

(i) To analyze the impact of cloud computing on organizations

and society.
(ii) To examine various services of cloud computing.
(iii) To evaluate cloud features using probability distribution
function for enhancing the capabilities of IoT applications.
The goal was to find out which cloud computing services from
various suppliers are the most suited. Cost and risks are essential
to be taken into consideration for the decision-making process.
Issues faced: The decisions become more complex as the
decision-makers in the cloud environment setup have to analyze
a broad variety of appropriate features based on competing
criteria.
Various multi-decision-making approaches are now available in
order to support these selection procedures.

Implementation: Probability-based distribution function was

utilized for selecting features based on their occurrence in
relevant research articles.

While dealing with a gigantic amount of data, it is more difficult

for decision makers to make an optimum decision. The
capability of decision making can be improved by using decision
support system and features selection techniques. The precision
of the existing feature set is not affected

Cloud computing
Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services—including

servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and

intelligence—over the Internet (“the cloud”) to offer faster
innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale.
Cloud computing provides an environment where various forms of
communication technologies are integrated to provide easy access
to virtual resources.
Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud &
Google Drive, iCloud, and Dropbox are all public cloud services.

Eg: Dropbox - Dropbox is a cloud storage service that enables

users to store files on remote cloud servers and the ability to share
files within a synchronized format.
Google Cloud - Google Cloud is a suite of cloud computing
services that runs on the same infrastructure that Google uses
internally for their own consumer products, such as Google
Search, Gmail, and YouTube.

Types of Cloud - Categorized into 2 types:

1. Deployment cloud
2. Service cloud.

1. Deployment Cloud
Public cloud
The public cloud is open to all to store and access information via
the Internet using the pay-per-usage method.
Advantages:
Public cloud is owned at a lower cost than the private and
hybrid cloud.
It is accessible by the general public, so there is no limit to the
number of users.
Disadvantages of Public Cloud
Public Cloud is less secure because resources are shared
publicly.
Performance depends upon the high-speed internet network
link to the cloud provider.
Private Cloud
Private cloud is also known as an internal cloud or corporate cloud.
It is used by organizations to build and manage their own data
centers internally or by the third party.
Based on the location and management, private cloud into the
following two parts-
On-premise private cloud
Outsourced private cloud
Advantages of Private Cloud
Private cloud provides a high level of security and privacy to
the users.
Private cloud offers better performance with improved speed
and space capacity.
Disadvantages of Private Cloud
Skilled people are required to manage and operate cloud
services.

Hybrid Cloud
A hybrid Cloud is a combination of the public cloud and the
private cloud.

Advantages of Hybrid Cloud

Hybrid cloud is suitable for organizations that require more
security than the public cloud.
Hybrid cloud helps you to deliver new products and services
more quickly.
Disadvantages of Hybrid Cloud
In the hybrid cloud, the reliability of the services depends on
cloud service providers.
Managing a hybrid cloud is complex because it is difficult to
manage more than one type of deployment model.
Service cloud:

SAAS: remains the most popular choice among businesses, Its

based on subscription.
Example: Gmail.
PAAS: Google cloud model that leases hard and software tools,
provides one with a cloud platform to develop and create software.
Example: Google App Engine
IAAS: Infrastructure as a service enables one to construct and control
their own servers, data storage facilities, networks, and operating systems.
Example: Amazon Web Services

IOT – INTERNET OF THINGS

IoT is a dynamic technology that combines various things through

a communication medium for enhancing various processes of
organizations.
It is a technique for linking tangible objects to other online
technologies.
Things contain sensors that enable data collection and transmission
over the Internet.
Comparison of Internet of Things and Cloud Computing
Cloud is a centralized system helping to transfer and deliver data
and files to data centers over the Internet. A variety of data and
programs are easy to access from a centralized cloud system.
The Internet of Things refers to devices connected to the Internet.
In the IoT, data is stored in real-time, as well as historical data.
The IoT can analyze and instruct devices to make effective
decisions, as well as track how certain actions function.
Eg: IoT and Cloud in Healthcare:
While IoT can enable safe, efficient, and high-quality medical
monitoring and management, the cloud-based Radio-Frequency
Identification (RFID) technology can help to deliver cutting edge
which results in medical information transmission, smart health
monitoring, and precise location. IoT also ensures convenience in
other healthcare operations including patient monitoring and
tracking management.
Cloud-based IoT services have the potential to revolutionize a
complete healthcare delivery system. This can be integrated to
establish seamless communication between data collection,
transmitting equipment, sensor devices and the MIS system which
are used for deep data analysis.
IOT for Patients: Devices in the form of wearables like fitness
bands and other wirelessly connected devices like blood pressure
and heart rate monitoring cuffs, glucometer etc. give patients
access to modified attention. These devices can be tuned to remind
calorie count, exercise check, blood pressure variations, heartbeat
rate and much more.
IOT for Physicians : This helps the physicians to study the
patient’s problem and to give them the best treatment to receive
the best result in the patients’ health.
Alerts and Tracking : Timely alerts can be critical in case of life-
threatening circumstances. IOT allows medical devices to gather
essential data and transfer it to doctors in real time. The reports
provide perfect opinion on the patient’s condition, irrespective of
location or time.

Cloud Computing and IoT in the organization

Cloud computing provides important benefits for scalable,
dynamic, and low-cost IT solutions and high availability of
services, pay-per-use, and ease of use that are beneficial for the
effectiveness of businesses.
Organizations adopt cloud computing when they are interested in
building capacity or adding additional capabilities without
spending much money, training new employees, or purchasing
new software. With this technology enhancement, you can
purchase any subscription or pay-per-use service virtually without
having it permanently which expands IT’s existing capabilities in
real time over the Internet. Users of cloud computing are
empowered to access various cloud infrastructures on a
subscription basis.
Several companies, including companies that are not
technologically orientated, wish to explore the effectiveness and
advantages of cloud computing.
Auto moisture control: Whenever you want to water your garden
when the moisture in the soil drops, Instead of doing it manually
this can be activated using IoT. The sensors and activators
installed finds the moisture level in the soil and sends the
information through gateway. The gateways feeds the data into the
cloud. Once the moisture level drops the system is immediately
triggered and sprinklers are turned on. However with the
information stored in the cloud gives us the detail about the time
and date of the sprinkler turned on, rate at which moisture in soil
reduces and so on. Report is sent to smartphone over the app.
Advantages:
User Centric: When you relate to cloud, you can share and
download messages, documents pictures, and applications as
what is stored on the cloud becomes yours on subscription
basis.
Broad Network Access: These computer resources
(hardware, software, and processor) are offered to the users of
cloud on Internet, and they are used by different client apps
located on a consumer site with heterogeneous devices (such
mobile phones, computers, and personal digital assistant)
Virtualization: Virtualization utilizes software to establish a
computer-based layers. Cloud computing helps to improve
data storage and access via the Internet and the cloud. This is
accomplished by virtualization.
Robustness, Scalability, Recovery.
Drawbacks: Not every time this model would be useful. There
might be chances where probability theory can be least
implemented.
Downtime is considered as one of the biggest potential downsides
of using Cloud Computing
Alternative solutions: Comparing it to the healthcare domain,
1.We can use Blockchain technology to avoid miscommunication
between different healthcare professionals involved in caring for
the same patient , faster diagnosis and interventions become
possible , and caring can be personalized to each patient. The
unique capabilities of Blockchain can help real time disease
reporting and the exploration of disease patterns that can help
identify it's origin and transmission parameters.
2.Virtual and augmented reality are helping doctors and surgeons
to better perform various important tasks, like practicing new
surgical techniques or more thoroughly explaining procedures to
patients.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, cloud computing in combination with the Internet of
Things will make fundamental changes to the life of mankind,
particularly in how information is managed. The cloud is the only
technology that can analyze, store, and access the IoT depending on
the deployment model. Because of the nature of on-demand
information, cloud computing with an Internet connection is available
on any device at any time. As hybrid cloud adoption grows, many
companies are realizing its benefits and the need to implement it.
Cloud computing will continue to open up new opportunities for the
IoT for a long time to come.
The three main components of the cloud listed below will
revolutionize the Internet of Things:-
Computing power
Reliability
Connectivity
