 Summary
The benefits of migrating to Linux form windows is that it is more customizable,
stable(reliable), free, and more efficient than other Operating Systems. Based off
that I recommended Ubuntu as the OS because of its tight security, suitability,
large amount of support, and User Interface. The Migration steps that are needed
would be to start with determining which Hardware is being used, then choice of
software(in this case Ubuntu), test this system then backup all company data,
train employees to use the new system, lastly install OS to all hardware. Ubuntu
also provides free tools for File Sharing, services, and printing. Samba is used for
file sharing. Apache is used for services. Cups is used for Printing. The last thing is
that Ubuntu’s User Interface or GUI is very pleasing to the eye and most people
will know how to navigate throughout it almost immediately.
