PURPOSE
The assignment aims to evaluate learners’ understanding of children’s social and
emotional development based on their ability to create, plan and relate a relevant
justification to the appropriate children’s activities.

PART I
QUESTION 1: MIND MAP (20 MARKS)
Social skills are ways of dealing with others that create healthy and positive interactions.
Children who have social skills can communicate clearly, calmly, and respectfully.
You are required to draw a mind map by suggesting appropriate activities to promote
social interaction skills among pre-schoolers. Attach the mind map to your assignment.

According to Jean Piaget’s theory, the trust built through the caregiving relationship sets
the groundwork for future social interaction and children’s behaviour. Adults need to
