Analysis on Current Classroom Situation
Grade VI- Rizal
Introduction
This new school year felt more overwhelming than ever. The pupils, parents, and teachers
were all displaying a range of emotions, including enthusiasm, joy, and confusion.
On the first day of class, pupils were introduced to their classmates and teacher within the
classroom. The students are required to wear masks. This was done to demonstrate to students
their knowledge of COVID-19 as well as for hygienic protection. The willingness to return to
regular learning procedures is now clearly high after the prolonged distance learning, which was
challenging for learners, parents, and teachers alike. However, there may be differences in pupils'
readiness at some point, not just as there were before pandemic.
Grade VI- Rizal consists of 11 males and 17 females with a total of 28 pupils Based on their
ages one of them is 10-year-old, 25 of them is 11 years old and the last 2 is 12 years old.
This group of learners is handled by Mrs. Maria Cristina B. Salvid their class adviser at the
same time their teacher in Science,English, Araling Panlipunan, ESP, EPP, MAPEH and two subject
teachers whom are , Mrs. Cecilia G. Arizobal ,teaching Filipino subject and Mrs. Ernestine Lea M.
Antig teaching Mathematics subject.
Problems Encountered
When it comes to their vaccination status, in which it should be monitored and prioritized,
almost half of them are vaccinated , in fact , 15 of them are fully vaccinated, there is one with
first dose only but unfortunately there are still 13 pupils who are not yet vaccinated. The good
thing is that thanks to the partnership between the Municipal Health Unit of Nasugbu and the
school itself , Covid 19 orientation and vaccination took place on October 20, 2022, and a
vaccination caravan is scheduled on October 27, 2022, open to all unvaccinated pupils and
also teachers who need booster shots.
At the start of the academic year , the teacher administered different pre assessment
focusing on pre test subjects assessment, reading, reciting of multiplication table, cursive
writing, basic skills in sentence and paragraph writing. Assessment of non-academic tasks were

also happened like how they clean the classroom and their respective assigned parts outside, how
pupils maintain cleanliness and orderliness all through out the day, their behavior inside and
outside the classroom , how they fall in line during their flag ceremony , how they pass their
paper when asked by the teacher, how they perform tasks in group activities and etc.
This is the result of the assessments:
Pre Test
The highest MPS which is 76.71% is in ESP and the others subjects are ranging
only from 55 to 65 % which is definitely low which is expected due to the fact that it
is still a pre test and the other reason is the pupils is from distance learning.
Reading Assessments in English and Filipino
In English, only 3 or 10. 71% are Very Good , 16 or 57.14 % are Good and
there are 9 or 32.14% who got Fair Assessment in reading.
In Filipino, only 3 or 10.71 % are Very Good ,21 or 75 % are Good ,3 or 10.71
% are fair and there is 1 or 3.57 % who got poor assessment due to the reason that
she is an English speaking learner and just starting to familiarize words in Tagalog.
Multiplication Table Memorization
According to the Mathematics teacher, only 8 out of 28 pupils was able to
recite and memorize multiplication table in their pre assessment completely. The
others find multiples of 0-5 and 10 easy but when in comes to multiples of 6-9 , it is
hard for them.
Cursive Writing
The pupils are not familiar with the cursive writing, in fact just few were
able to write their names in cursive manner.
Basic Skills in sentence and paragraph writing
Only few were able to construct sentence with proper punctuation and
correct use of capital letters. They are also not familiar with the use of indentions
and margins in writing paragraphs.
Non – academic Assessments
At first ,unfortunately , only few knows how to clean the classroom inside
and outside in order. They don’t know were to put and organize the cleaning
materials . They always have to be reminded how to fall in line in proper manner at
the same time reminded and teach them how to pass their papers properly. They
are not even familiar with the rules and guidelines while performing group activities.

Solution to the Problem
We can say that if there are problems , there are also solutions. We just have to initiate
plans and action to achieve our target.
As an adviser , I can say that within the two months of handling Grade VI- Rizal . I must say
that there are improvements and room for future improvements based on their actions and
academic improvements inside and outside the classroom.. Through my everyday reminders and
advises, little by little they learn to improve not just only by themselves but also as a group.
Based on the learners needs, I am starting to implement my 4- day schedule of remedial
and intervention to capture all their learning needs . Every Monday , we are focusing on
Homeroom Guidance activities, Tuesday, is for reading in which we started first on basic sight
words for grade 6, Wednesday is for our spelling activity and Thursday is for our cursive writing
activity.
When it comes to non – academic improvement needs , I posted a You’re the BEST bulletin
with their groupings for them to monitor their Ribbons being posted. This ribbons include BEST
helpers, Cleanest Group, BEST presenter, BEST Behavior, ,and BEST output. I believe that this will
produce positive improvement and motivation to them for them to be the BEST LEARNERS.
Conclusion
In order to produce BEST LEARNERS , we have try our best to be the BEST TEACHERS . We
may improve as a teacher by being aware of the different learning preferences of our learners. We
can even learn from them in this way. Every pupil is different and have their own distinct personality
traits. We will undoubtedly improve as a teacher if we can identify these and use them.We have a
special chance to participate in a dynamic process that will benefit both ourselves and our pupils.
