Our topic today May 29, 2022 is all about Land Navigation. This course
has provided us with the opportunity to have a much better grasp of many
aspects of navigation. We had the opportunity to learn more about Land
Navigation in one of our lessons. Our instructor invited guest speakers to speak
about land navigation as part of our class exercise. The presenters were Air
Force members, which made us feel even more privileged and honored that
they came over and spent some of their most valuable time imparting skills and
practices fresh from where they came from. They have given us a succinct
explanation of land navigation to offer us with basic information about the
topic: "Land navigation is the military name for the study of travelling across
unknown terrain on foot or in a land vehicle." Land navigation entails the
ability to read maps, operate a compass, and do other navigational tasks." That
excites me tremendously. Consider new learning, new talents, and everything
else that the Philippine Air Force is undertaking. It feels like I'm truly preparing
to be a soldier, which reminds me that I thought about joining the army once, a
long time ago, and it brings back the emotion. Given that, you can imagine how
eager I am to learn everything they have to teach me. This is an essential
lecture, and I believe it will be useful when I move out into the real world.
The lesson was good, and I could tell they had done their homework.
They had an outstanding interactive PowerPoint presentation, which
astonished me because it was unlike the typical presentation I see here at
Xavier University. (although I'm not claiming I haven't seen one before), it
contains buttons that allow you to select whatever area of the issue you want to
debate and so on, and it also has the capability of becoming a specialized
calculator (to calculate the azimuths). As predicted, they taught us how to read
a map and use a compass. The majority of the issues' concepts were merely
mathematical in nature, and thus are not difficult. I could even recall one of the
lecturers saying something to the effect of "These calculations are quite
straightforward, even a grade school student could solve them" while he was
teaching us how to compute azimuths and several critical angles and their
