Internship program gave me hands-on practical experience and
made me develop skills like multitasking, communicating, learning to
deal with diversity etc., that one cannot get in a classroom. During
the internship of one month I got an opportunity of getting practical
knowledge about ground staff operations of AIRPORT.
Internships connect the knowledge learned in the classroom with
real life applications in order to have ultimate learning experience.
Overall, the internship has been beneficial for so many reasons. I
have learned and grown so much as a person through this
experience and had the opportunity to work with wonderful people
who have taught me so much.

There’s no airport or air carrier that can operate sustainably without

ground staff. They are a vital cog in the wheel of the aviation
industry, and they cannot be replaced by computers or machines.
This means that ground staff jobs are here to stay.

Ground staff jobs are generally challenging, but they are also well
paying. To be a ground staff worker, you need to be able to think on
your feet and to come up with creative solutions to unexpected
problems.

Duties and responsibilities of ground staff at airports There are many

duties and responsibilities to come with ground staff jobs, but the
main one is to ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers who
travel through the airport. Different airports and airlines have

different job descriptions for their ground staff, but in most cases,
the ground staff is charged with the following duties.

Within the airport terminal, the ground staff is responsible for:

• Manning the check-in counters that serve departing passengers.

Here, the duties include checking the passengers in for their
flights, redirecting or rebooking customers whose flights have
either been delayed or cancelled, and giving updates to
passengers who are waiting in the lobbies.
• Manning the arrival and departure gates. This involves
attending to customers before they board, after they land, or

It’s the responsibility of the health screeners at the airport to ensure

that all the below steps are adhered to, and no COVID-positive
patient enters the flight.

Procedure

1. If a passenger tests positive, deny their boarding and move

them away from others at the airport. Initially, you can send
them to the isolation room built by the airport authorities.

healthcare. Clarify that they will need to self-pay for services
rendered by the healthcare provider during the course of their
treatment.

3. Notify the county health team, and triage positive passengers

for further public health and medical evaluation
4. Notify Airline POC that boarding was denied for the passenger,
and they are allowed to request re-booking on future flights

CHAPTER-4
MISSION, GOAL and PURPOSE

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 25

MISSION

My field of interest has always been towards airport ground

operations. Dealing with the airport operations like passenger
monitoring, managing the terminal , are the things I like to operate
with. My intension for joining KIAL was to know more about these
concepts and understand the professional workplace and
expectations that come with it.

GOALS

My internship program has taught me how the ground staff

operations are done. It has also given me exposure towards many
practical aspects which I did not have knowledge about. The
important thing I learned was that if you are willing to work with
clients, passengers and listen to what they really need, it can create
relationships that are mutually beneficial for both parties.
Open communication was one of the strongest and most apparent
skills that I learnt during my internship, as the airport is situated in
kerala and the native language is Malayalam overthere ;at the
beginning, I found my work challenging and felt very nervous to ask
about it due to linguistic barriers. Then when I approached my
colleagues, they helped me overcome all my challenges. Then, it
came to my light that without open communication between
everyone in the airport, work cannot be done in a smooth manner.

PURPOSE

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 26

This internship has been a valuable one, where I have learnt to handle
different types of passengers, procedures and protocols to be
followed in an airport.
This gave me the opportunity to apply college based knowledge into
practical life.
At KIAL I have not only gained beneficial knowledge but also learnt
the networking aspect of meeting real professions in the workplace. I
was very fortunate to be an intern there.
As a whole I believe that this internship was successful in furthering
my knowledge of a career in the field of Aviation.
I saw the pressure of deadline, the importance of
appearance/grooming, punctuality, the value of being a self
motivator and the joy of loving your job. The internship taught me all
of the required skills and tasks needed to have career in my field.

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 27

CHAPTER-5

DUTIES, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCHEDULE,

LEARNING FROM THE ORGANISATION

Organizational culture

Organizational culture is the collection of values, expectations, and

practices that guide and inform the actions of all team members.
The organizational culture of KIAL was formed by employees who
were continually learning and were dedicated towards their work.
For a Developing company culture - communication, recognition, and
action are the key requirement.
By following the steps in this guide, the organization improves
communication with co-workers, start creating a culture of
recognition, and ensure that all members put the culture into action.
The organizational culture at KIAL was easy to adapt as there was a
peaceful working environment and my colleagues were very
corporative.

Organizational structure

KIAL had several TERMINAL DUTY MANAGERS, CISF, Airside

Operators, Airport staffs, Airlines staffs and Interns from various
institutes, who worked in their respective shifts according to the
rooster provided by the management.

interfacing with multiple vendors for various works. Shabu Thomas
Facilities Manager at BVG India Limited KIAL Kerala.
Schedule

The timings of my internship program were from 0800-2000

(UTC timings). Every airport staff, airlines staffs, CISF members and
other ground staffs had to report to the duty at sharp 0800AM.
It was a fixed schedule, as the employer believed that workers with
fixed schedules can co-ordinate better with other employees and
their superiors because of the common workspace, which help
establish better working relationships.
Fixed schedule also helps in giving instructions to and tracking the
performance of people who work during the same hours or shift are
more manageable.

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 30

Staffs had to follow the shift roster, where the duty hours are
mentioned as shown in the following Image

INTERNS SHIFT ROSTER-KIAL

The shift formats

Two working days (DAY/NIGHT) followed by a Night off and Week off
followed by two working days (DAY/NIGHT) followed by a Night off
then again two working days.

Colleagues

My relationship with the colleagues was very good. They were well
organized and thoughtful people. I had 9 interns working with me in
the firm. All were very hardworking and dedicated ones.

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 31

Co-workers

As mentioned in the above statement I was working with 9 interns of

vision school of aviation. As per the roster issued by the HR we
worked as a team in several duties in the terminal.

Few of my colleagues helped me by translating the Malayalam terms

which seemed challenging/difficult for me while conversing with the
passengers and other staffs.

I received great deal of cooperation and friendly behaviour from

them. This experience was very helpful in terms of my professional
experience.

Senior managers

Excluding the staff members there were DTM (Duty Manager) , who
assigned all of us the tasks to be performed.
DTM had a positive attitude towards the interns as they used to
escort the interns whenever they needed to enter the PTB

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 32

(Passenger Terminal Building). They’ve been strict towards the
interns due the escort issues took place in the internship period as
per the SOPs.
Airside operators, Fire fighters and Security office administrators of
the terminal were very kind towards the interns regardless of their
positions. They explained the ground handling operations in a
magnificent manner.
Each one of them were very dedicated towards their work and also
greeted the clients/interns with utmost respect and gratitude.
They Always checked on our physical health as well as our mental
health.
They always gave priority to the health, appetites of the staffs which
is the primary source of energy which is required for a person. I feel
very fortunate for working under an ambitious staff. I feel privileged
for the kind of opportunity I obtained in KIAL.
Learning’s from KIAL the organization

During my internship of one month, I found the overall performance

of the organization was above satisfactory level, these learning’s can
be measured in following criteria;

• Introduction to Aviation and KANNUR INTERNATIONAL

AIRPORT:
We were given an orientation /induction session in the first
day before the duty began.
One of the KIAL staffs, terminal managers, and other HOD of
the ground staffs briefed a quite beneficiary and basic
information of the aviation industry and about the airport.
• Floor walking duty in pre-SHA (Security holding
area)/forecourt:

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 33

Two of the interns were assigned to the floor walking duty in
the departure terminal area where one is supposed to be
checking the flight schedules and report the flight
departure/arrival timings, check in start and end timings,
immigration/emigration start and end timings.

• Passenger Monitoring:

CHECK-IN COUNTER-KIAL

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 34

We were told to monitor the passengers in the departure
/arrival terminal area to make sure the passenger gets required
guidance, hospitality, and to clear their queries regarding their
flight journey, to access the facilities of the airport and many
more.

• The Security office:

This is a place where the AEP (Aerodrome Entry Permit) ADP for the
airport staffs which is controlled by BCAS (Bureau of Civil Aviation
Security). For KIAL the BCAS headquarters is TRIVANDRUM.

THE OFFICE-KIAL

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 35

Requirements for the AEP and ADP are :
1. Contract between KIAL and the firm. (Period of
agreement)
2. Aadhar Card
3. PCC (Police Clearance Certificate)
4. I’d card of the representing firm/company/institute 5.
Appointment letter of an individual
6. Awareness certificate.

The internship program made me explore my potential and ability to

work and study simultaneously. I previously believed that I could not
take work and study side by side. But my internship program helped
me develop and enhance skill of studying and working
simultaneously.

Team work: - During my internship, I was assigned various activities

that had to be performed the proper team work lead to synergy in a
team. It taught me how activities are to be performed in a team and
impact of behaviour of one on the work and performance of the
other team member. I realized what we studied was real. benefits.

CHAPTER 6

APPLICATION OF THE THEORY TO THE REAL-LIFE SITUATION

Internship programme was a great opportunity to enhance the

theoretical knowledge into real life or real aviation industry. It
proved to be a valuable platform to express the classroom
experiences practically. Through internship programme I got to
explore the things which I knew theoretically and it was a wonderful
experience and I’m privileged to work in ONE among the 36
COMMERCIAL / INTERNATIONAL AIRPORTS in INDIA.
There were many concepts which I was already aware of.
This knowledge application was done on the existing firms. The
concepts are:

PTB (PASSENGER TERMINAL BUILDING)

The CNN airport has an integrated passenger terminal for both

international and domestic travellers with a floor area of
97,000 m2 (1,040,000 sq ft) for arrival and departure separately. It is
able to handle up to 2,000 passengers during peak hours with its
unique swing facility. It features six aerobridges with 48 check-in
counters, 32 emigration counters, 16 customs counters, four
conveyor belts and access control inside the terminal.
The passenger terminal will use the swing facility. The international
gates are used for domestic operations when there are no
international flights. The passenger terminal building has a double

green building concept.

TERMINAL (Departure)-KIAL.

There are concession spaces for the travellers such as retail stores,
shopping, retail shops etc. So, those enough opportunities are
created to increase the concessions revenue. The terminals planner
has to work minutely and meet out the needs of the airport client’s
comma airline travellers, airport staff and other stakeholders. The air
terminal should also be able to meet current requirements and
future prospects keeping in mind the customer flows, aviation
demand and other aspects.
Cargo

A cargo terminal complex having an 8-floor space of 32,000

m2 (340,000 sq ft) will also be constructed.

LANDSIDE

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 38

The landside of an airport defines those areas and activities within
the airport boundaries, exclusive of the airside. The landside may
accommodate a variety of aviation and non-aviation related activities
such as passenger processing, public access, commercial zones and
airport cities. The access to the landside is normally not restricted
and open for the public.
KIAL comes under CATEGORY9 airport.
There are 9 levels in KIAL airport, they are;
Level 1 – 80m; KIAL Office, hotel, canteen
Level 2 – 89m; Arrival
Level 3 – 93m; BMA/BBA (Baggage Makeup Area/ Baggage Breakup
Area)
Level 4 – 95m; Handling area
Level 5 – 96m; Baggage
Level 6 – 102m; Departure and Airside entry
Level 7 – 108m; PTB Security hold area
Level 8 – 113m; SHA (Security Hold Area), Food court, prayer room,
lounges etc.
Level – 117m; Roof level.

TERMINAL LANDSIDE FACILITY

The operations at the terminal landside facility are guided by the
presence of number of passenger arrivals and departures and the
cargo activity if present on the terminal. The traffic operations of the
landside facilities, apart from the peaking characteristics depend on a
number of things:

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 39

• The vehicle speed on the airport Roadways is very slow then
peripheral roadways.
• Different types of vehicles transfer Roadways on the airport.
• Complex routings present on the airport and multiple ways to
navigate the roadway system.
• The roadway layout in the airport may vary from airport to
airport.
• There are large number of merge/diverge points & hence
drivers have to take decisions at very short distances.
• In many cases, the drivers do occasional visits to facility, are
confused, so move at slow speeds.
• The ground access systems inside the airports are complex
interrelated facilities and hence require detailed planning,
analysis and evaluation of the current facilities present at the
airport.

ENTRANCE-KIAL

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 40

The intermodal connections present on the airport are of two types.
The first type comprises the local or regional rail or bus system and
the second one comprises the rail or bus system present on the
airport. In some cases, mass transit systems also help in
transportation inside the terminal and provide access to the airport,
Terminal and concession employees.
A large number of airport roadway systems are present on the
airport such as exit Roadways, terminal approach roads, terminal
curb front, recirculation roads, service roads etc. Also, the terminal
curb front of an airport is a highly complex operating area which
allows the vehicles to load and unload passengers and luggage and
then merger a way to the main traffic Road. This curb front area of
the terminal landside area of the airport can be divided into two
types that is pedestrian facilities and vehicle facilities.
Parking facilities are also present on the landside area of the airport
and it provides facilities to a number of users such as traveler’s,
employees, tenants and rental cars. Broadly there are five types of
parking facilities passengers which depend upon the demand for
parking.
• Terminal parking is the close in parking facility and the
most convenient parking facility for the passengers. It
provides short term as well as long term parking facility.
• Remote parking facilities remain at distance from the
airport facility and generally provide parking facility for
long term. They also require on Airport transit capabilities
to carry passengers from parking to Terminal and vice
versa. The remote parking charges are less than the
terminal parking.
• Off airport parking facilities are same as the remote
parking facilities but are present outside the airport
property and are generally handled by private operators.

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 41

• Valid parking facilities are provided at large number of
airports for the departing passengers who leave their
vehicles parked at the curb front all in terminal parking
lots.
• Cell phone lots are very useful in reducing traffic
congestions as they are present along the entrance road
to the terminal, where he/she can wait for a call from
passenger & come as soon as he calls him/her.
The various terminal facilities or counters present on the airport are:

• Check in facilities
• Airport information centres
• Wi-Fi and telecommunication services
• Phone or computer recharge in stations
• Wheelchair provision or storage for disable persons
• Electric passenger carts
• Passenger luggage trolleys v Baggage handling systems
• Alternative electrical power arrangements for security,
Communications, operations and emergency systems
• Security lighting system both inside and outside of the
airport
TERMINAL AIRSIDE FACILITIES
The integration amongst the terminal building in airport and a site
facility plays an important role to accomplish secure and efficient
aircraft operations. Therefore, the terminal planner has to be
entirely conscious and stick to exact planning regulations and
necessities. Especially, the terminal planner has to take into account
the various requirements of the airport complex which comprises
airside planning, apron planning and to see the necessities of the
aircraft gates requirement at the airport.

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 42

APRON- KIAL

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 43

The various airside limitations and tasks which should be part of the
site planning of the airport terminal complex are:

THE NAVIGABLE AIRSPACE AROUND AN AIRPORT

When considering the Runway system and also the airports which
employ the aircraft instrument approach and departure procedures.

Maneuvering and separations for an aircraft:

When passenger terminal configurations are planned, along with
aprons, it is important to take into account the maneuvering patterns
and aircraft paths which will later help the air terminal complex.
Other things which affect the maneuvering of aircraft and operations
are number of gates, aircraft type and runway configurations etc.

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 44

MANEUVERING

ATCT (i.e., Air Traffic control Tower)

In order to conduct safe aircraft operations, Air traffic control tower
should be able to see all the moment areas on the airfield i.e.,
taxiways, runways and ramps, aircraft parking configuration, tail
heights etc. Also, it is important to have a clear line of sight from the
ramp towers, so that air traffic controller is able to see the entry of
aircraft into the apron and moving towards luggage gates. In case the
ramp tower is not on the airport, then the ATC should be able to see
all aircraft ramp areas.

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 45

ATC

Ground control (sometimes known as ground movement control) is

responsible for the airport "movement" areas, as well as areas not
released to the airlines or other users. This generally includes all
taxiways, inactive runways, holding areas, and some transitional
aprons or intersections where aircraft arrive, having vacated the
runway or departure gate. Exact areas and control responsibilities
are clearly defined in local documents and agreements at each
airport

Surveillance Displays

• Surveillance displays are also available to controllers at larger

airports to assist with controlling air traffic. Controllers may use a
radar system called secondary surveillance radar for airborne traffic
approaching and departing. These displays include a map of the area,
the position of various aircraft, and data tags that include aircraft
identification, speed, altitude, and other information described in
local procedures. In adverse weather conditions the tower
controllers may also use Surface Movement Radar (SMR), Surface
Movement Guidance and Control System (SMGCS) or Advanced
Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (ASMGCS) to
control traffic on the maneuvering area (taxiways and runway).

Airside security
It consists of all the parts of the airside of an airport, where
restrictions for all persons is there. In some airports, this area maybe
accessible to passengers and staff who have undergone Security
Check.

CISF SECURITY CHECK

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 48

Aircraft apron/ Gate access points

The aircrafts are admitted to terminal gates through taxiway and taxi
Lane system. Hence, there Positioning may be affected by terminal
configurations and aircraft configurations. The markings on the apron
entrance pavement facilitate the pilots to find the direction and
position on the apron.

AIRPORT ACCESS GATE -KIAL

Aircraft deicing
The aircraft deicing is of two types- decentralized and centralized and
prevents accumulation of snow, ice, or even frost on the aircraft. A
deicing fluid which is mixture of glycol and water is heated and
sprayed under pressure by spraying vehicles at the airport prior to
departure of aircraft. As the accumulation of ice or snow on the
plane’s wings and rear tail components may change the shape of the
engineered structure and may prevent in the proper lift required for
the flight.

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 49

Electronic interference
In order to prevent, the terminal facilities interference with the
navigational aid present at the ground. Computer modelling is used,
so that the terminal building and aircraft parking areas do not
interfere with the navigational aid’s such as localizer, glide slope,
DVOR/DME (Doppler VHF Omnidirectional Range Navigation) or
CVOR (Conventional VHF Omnidirectional Navigation), airport
surveillance radar (ASR) etc.

BAGGAGE HANDLING IN AIRPORT
A baggage handling system (BHS) is a type of conveyor system
installed in airports that transports checked luggage from ticket
counters to areas where the bags can be loaded onto airplanes. A
BHS also transports checked baggage coming from airplanes to
baggage claims or to an area where the bag can be loaded onto
another airplane

BBA (BAGGAGE BREAK UP AREA)-KIAL

THE BAGGAGE HANDLING SYSTEM OR BHS, is the baggage sorting

handling system used in airports. Often, the airport prestige and the
ability of the infrastructure in attracting the interest of the big airline
companies come from the BHS level of efficiency. Traveller’s
satisfaction is a fundamental parameter to guide airlines choosing
the stopovers for their flights.

The objective for an efficient BHS is moving luggage from one side to
another of the airport with a system able to allow a transfer that
lasts much as the one of the passengers that owns the suitcase. If

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 52

luggage moves slowly, the result will be frustrated traveller’s waiting
for suitcases and that may lose connections because of these delays.
If the transfer is too fast, baggage may arrive before passengers. A
baggage handling system task are mainly three:
• 1- Moving luggage from the check-in to the boarding gate
• 2-Moving luggage from one gate to another during transfers
• 3- Moving luggage from the arrival gate to the baggage collection
area.
•4- Each airport has its own needs and size: in some airports, the
transfer could last the time of a walk, but in some other airports
passenger may have to take a train. Usually, in medium/large
airports, the baggage handling structure is an automatic system
made of conveyor belts, switches (called "pushers" and barcode
readers (or RFID labels)

RUNWAY

Kannur Airport has one runway, 07/25 which is 3,050 by 45 metres

(10,007 by 148 feet). Runway 07/25 orientation permits an obstacle
free approach. Runway 25's end will have Category I approach
lighting and the 07 end will have simple approach lighting. The
runway will be extended to 4,000 metres (13,000 ft) after the airport
is commissioned.

IX (AIR INDIA EXPRESS)-KIAL

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 56

The Phase I expansion period is from 2016–17 to 2025–26. It includes
a 4,000 metres (4,400 yd) runway extension, a full-length taxiway,
commissioning of a fuel farm, an aviation academy etc. and
developing city side facilities. Works for the Phase-I expansion are
already progressing. A cargo terminal and cargo complex which was
initially in Phase-II has been shifted to Phase I and is under
construction. The Phase II expansion will happen from 2026–27 to
2045–46. It includes another runway and a dedicated domestic
terminal at Veliamparamba, and a long flyover to link it with
Moorkhanparamba.

RUNWAY INSPECTION
A typical runway inspection is a visual assessment by a qualified
individual to identify conditions that might indicate the requirement
for repairs or further evaluation.
A routine runway inspection is not an engineering analysis or an
alignment/elevation survey. These services would be employed to
diagnose the causes and potential corrections of specific deficient
conditions found during the inspection.
During a runway assessment, an Inspector performs a thorough
visual inspection of the runway supporting structure from the floor
to the crane rails including rail and rail fastening system runway
girders, girder and column tiebacks, girder seats or stools, bracing,
columns and column bases (if applicable), runway end stops,
hardware (missing and/or loose) and grout.
The entire length of both runways must be checked to ensure that
deficient conditions don't exist. Each rail attachment hardware
component is typically checked to ensure it is not loose and requiring
replacement, typically deficient items or areas will be marked in the
field and also noted within the report.
Racking, inventory and process equipment often makes safe access
using a lift impractical or impossible. This requires the Inspector to

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 57

"walk the runway". In these situations, a properly designed and
installed runway fall protection system must be installed, allowing
the Inspector to safely travel the length of the runway.

ARFF
Aircraft rescue and firefighting (ARFF) is a type of firefighting that
involves the emergency response, mitigation, evacuation, and rescue
of passengers and crew of aircraft involved in aviation accidents and
incidents.

Due to the mass casualty potential of an aviation emergency, the
speed with which emergency response equipment and personnel
arrive at the scene of the emergency is of paramount importance.
Their arrival and initial mission to secure the aircraft against all
hazards, particularly fire, increases the survivability of the passengers
and crew on board. Airport firefighters have advanced training in the
application of firefighting foams, dry chemical and clean agents used
to extinguish burning aviation fuel in and around an aircraft in order
to maintain a path for evacuating passengers to exit the fire hazard
area. Further, should fire either be encountered in the cabin or
extend there from an external fire, the ARFF responders must work
to control/extinguish these fires as well.
primary to the hazard mitigation and safe evacuation of ambulatory
passengers is the need to perform rescue operations. Passengers

unable to extricate themselves must be removed from the aircraft
and provided medical care. This process is extremely labour-intensive,
requiring both firefighters and support personnel. Due to the nature
of a mass casualty incident, rescue workers employ triage to classify
the victims and direct their efforts where they can maximize survival.

WATER SALUTE

A water salute occurs for ceremonial purposes when a vehicle travels

under plumes of water expelled by one or more fire fighting vehicles.
At an airport, typically an even number of vehicles will line up
perpendicularly on the sides of the taxiway or apron, and the plumes
of water will form a series of arches.

CHAPTER 7
LESSONS LEARNT AND CHALLENGES

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 62

I had truly enriching internship experience besides improving my
writing and editing skills and professional ethics, I had another major
learning. I understood how organizations worked and how the effort
of every team member makes a significant impact.
Here are a few major learning’s from my one-month internship: Aim
for excellence – like there is no final goal for a business, there is no
final limit to excellence. No matter how tight the deadlines are or
how high the work pressure is, we should always stay motivated and
complete our work in the best way possible.
Always be curious – we must always try to know and question what’s
going on in and outside the organization, why a certain project is
being taken up, or why a certain change was made to it.
Take initiatives – when we are curious and ask questions, we come
up with ideas. However, it is not enough to simply share our idea, we
need to be proactive. This represents our ownership towards our
work and our potential to take on new responsibilities. Be polite and
humble – being humble and polite when talking to the clients was
the major lesson I learnt. It is of core importance to be modest to
improve our relationships with the other person.
PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE There were few practical concepts that
were new to me. I got an opportunity to learn these new concepts,
which were different from my college-based knowledge.

CONCLUSION AND RECOMMENDATION

Conclusion

The knowledge I learned and experience I had during my

internship are highly beneficial for me as I graduate from
YAISCM.
The internship program has enabled me to acquire practical skills
and link theory to practice in the real world. Apart from gaining

INTERNSHIP REPORT. Page | 67

practical skills, I have also improved my listening skills, open
communication skills and many more.
Interning at a company with less staff had a lot to do with the
amount I learned. I think my level of responsibility increased due to
low number of employees. At times times this was overwhelming,
but I also tried to look at it as an opportunity. As a whole, this was an
opportunity to develop and enhance skills and competencies in my
field of interest, which I actually achieved.

Recommendations

I am very much delighted and thankful to the organization for

allowing me to do internship in their organization. I got the platform
to have exposed on the auditing processes and enhance my
knowledge and ideas. I am grateful for providing me such
opportunity.
