Beam Penetration

1) The design is for a concrete beam with a penetration requiring reinforcement analysis and design. 2) The main reinforcement consists of 2 #5 bars on top and 5 #7 bars on bottom. Stirrups of #3 bars are provided at 8 inches on center. 3) Analysis of flexure and shear are performed according to ACI 318-05. Requirements for flexural capacity, shear capacity, and shear reinforcement spacing are satisfied.
