Classroom Facilities Description

(location, number, arrangement, condition)

1. Wall Displays The wall displays that can be seen are very few and do
not have much design. This is situated behind the
students, facing the chalkboard. There are five wall
displays that are utilized for various themes, particularly
when they place a specialized topic of a certain subject
there.
2. Teacher's Table The teacher's table was clean and organized. This may
be found facing the chalkboard at the back of the
classroom. Inside the classroom, there is just one
teacher's table where the instructor used to place their
textbooks and other relevant items for educational

Name of the School Observed: Villaflores College

Location of the School: Legaspi St. Poblacion 8, Tanjay City, Negros Oriental

Date of Visit: October 18, 2022

As we go into the classroom of Sir Neil Flordeliz, we see that the furniture is neatly placed, the environment
is tidy, and the students and instructor are welcoming as we arrive for our first observation day. They only
displayed one infographic about appropriate coughing and sneezing manners, three board displays for lesson
displays in three different topics (English, Mathematics, and Science). The space has good lighting and
ventilation. The classroom was decorated in light colors, and although the two ceiling fans were on, the
windows were left open to let fresh air inside.

ANALYZE

1. How do the school campus and the classroom in particular impact on the learning of the students
going to school? What are your conclusions?

The classroom should be viewed as our second home because it is where students learn and teachers
present their lesson. It is a place where students can communicate, connect, interpret, and present ideas with
their peers, friends, and teachers. Due to the new normal, students can continue to learn I face to face classes
as they did in the past, thus they are allowed to attend school today.

2. How does this relate to your knowledge of the child and adolescent development/ how does this
relate to your knowledge of facilitating learning?

Different students come with different ways of learning, as an educator we must clearly observe the
needs of our students and we do not limit ourselves in the book instead we find ways to be able to satisfy the
student and so that we will be able to contribute to their development. In addition, the child’s learning
capability basically depends on the child’s improvement. As ponders say, the IQ of a child profoundly
depends on its childhood advancement. Watching a solid way of life for the kid may make strides the
capacity to memorize.
REFLECTION

1. Would you like to teach in the school environment you just observed? Why? Why not?

 Yes, I would like to teach in the school environment I just observed because the school environment is
very comfortable and accessible, the surrounding are very peaceful. The school is well-equipped in
terms of materials.

2. What kind of school campus is conducive to learning?

 A conducive to learning type of school campus may vary from different students. But generally
speaking, for a school to be conducive, it should have facilities that help all types of students in the
learning process.

 A classroom is conducive to learning characterizes the following:

- warm and well lit

- allows for comfortable space to learn effectively

- students feel the sense of acceptance and appreciation and;

- brings positivity among students

4. In the future, how can you accomplish your answer in number 3?.

 To accomplish the classroom that is cognitive to learning, i will carry out the following steeps;

 Make sure that the room is clean through encouraging the students to take part in cleaning the room.
Through this, I am also helping the students to be aware of their duties and responsibilities and helping
them develop discipline and cooperation in working with their classmates.

 - Organize the classroom through creating an effective seat plan that changes every term. This will
help students to establish relationship among their classmates and enhance their social skills.

 - Radiates positive energy in the class through embracing the diverseness of each students and
accepting each students’ uniqueness while responding to their needs effectively and inculcating the
value of ethics and doing the right thing in every aspect of their life.

 -Use a student-centered learning approach where students become the leader of themselves who are
able to solve their own problems independently and seek for the answers on their own and do not rely
on teacher’s instructions.
 - Lastly, is to be an effective teacher who goes beyond what is expected to them as models and
leaders of the school and the community.

5. Write your additional learning's and insights.

 Basically, a school is a place where we study and learn. It is where we learn new knowledge, gain
valuable experiences, build social relationships and develop meaningful values within ourselves. But, to
achieve all of these, a school must be a safe space for learning, promotes quality education, allows easy
access to learning resources and provides opportunities for independent but experiential learning for
students. These will not be possible if the school head, teachers, parents, students and the community
will cooperate in achieving all of these goals

REFLECTION
1. While you were observing the learners, did you recall your own experience? Says when you were their
age? What similarities or differences do you have with the learners you observe?

 I see the young me when I observed these learners. Just like a normal pre-school-er I was also energetic
and gaily when in class. I always like being the center of attention. But most of the time, I play by
myself and never want to join others when playing. As I excel in class, I start to enjoy talking to others,
sharing my favorites and telling them most of my imaginations. I had few friends in elementary that
made me feel better when someone is harassing or bullying me. Even though I was a consistent
achiever, my social skills aren’t good enough. I was unapproachable. During highschool, I often had
mood swings just like other teens. But with the help of my parents, teachers some of the close friends I
had, I was able to manage my emotions well especially when being mad.

2. Think of a teacher you cannot forget for positive or negative reasons. How did she/he help or not help you
with your needs (physical, emotional, social and cognitive)? How did it affect you?

 As I have mentioned above, I only had few friends. And this what bothers my Grade 6 teacher, because
I am not the friendly type. She often tells me to start making friends and being nice with others. I am not
mean, but I was really unapproachable that time.My teacher told my brother about it and he really
helped me to at least feel comfortable with others. And because of her, I started to make new friends and
to feel comfortable with others.

3. Share your other insights here.

 Dealing with diverse learners is a difficult job. Teachers must understand that these differences are
factors that influence learner’s performance. A teacher must be able to respond with their needs no
matter how diverse they are. Teachers need to modify every strategies or approaches they use when
dealing with different group of learners. But the most important thing is that the teacher must accept
these differences and influence other students to feel confident with themselves because they are unique.
