"PROJECT PROPOSAL"
I. Location: Abellanosa St., Barangay Consolacion , Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis
Oriental.
History: In 1818, the largest district in Mindanao, the Segundo Distrito de Misamis, was one of
the politico-military districts created by the Manila Spanish. The present-day Misamis Oriental,
Misamis Occidental, Camiguin, Bukidnon, Lanao, Zamboanga del Norte, and the northern portion
of Cotabato made up this region.
Additionally, a barrio in Cagayan de Oro is a portion of Misamis Oriental. which had a population
of 77,756 as per the 2020 Census. 10.67% of Cagayan de Oro's total population was represented
by this. Carmen is located on the island of Mindanao, roughly at 8.4809, 124.6355. It is estimated
that the elevation at these coordinates is 7.0 meters, or 23.0 feet, above mean sea level.
The first barangay in Cagayan de Oro City is called Barangay Carmen. It is 566,311 hectares in
size and home to 72,000 inhabitants. The 13,000 households there are split up among 73 zones.
Zones 2, 4, 5, 7, and 9 are river bank zones out of the 73 zones. Carmen Market is located in Zone
3, a commercial district. It is located on the west bank of the Cagayan de Oro River and is
bordered to the north by Barangay Kauswagan, the south by Balulang, the west by Canitoan-
Patag-Bulua, and the east by the river. It has 39 commercial establishments, 4 AM/FM Stations, 7
Banks, 7 Hotels, 15 Pawnshops, 5 Restaurants, 3 Supermarkets, 1 TV Station (inactive), 18
Regional/ District/ Provincial Offices, 15 Pre-school & 14 Elementary Schools, 8 Secondary, 2
Colleges and 2 Universities, and has a total of 39 commercial establishments.

Your task is to participate in the community-based Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.
Your goal is to create a project proposal so that the youth can participate in disaster preparedness.
Your role is a founding member of a teen DRRM volunteer group. You and your classmates in
the same neighborhood will get to know your community LGU’s DRRM and find out the needs
of the community that you can contribute as awareness, response, etc.

you can contribute based on the needs of the community.
