EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

A PET bottle production unit is a plastics sector project built in a location where utilities
essential to the production process, especially electricity, infrastructure and other
equipment, are conveniently available. All industrial zones in big cities such as Karachi,
Lahore, Hyderabad, Gujranwala, Multan, Rawalpindi, Quetta, Peshawar, Lasbela are
suitable locations to realize this project. The project is supposed to produce three
different sizes of his PET bottles. H. 0.5, 1.5, 6 liters, using food grade "polyethylene
terephthalate" in a contract manufacturing process. The proposed 02 semi-automatic
PET blow molding machine unit will produce approximately 5,171 bottles per day
(approximately 7,680 bottles of 0.5 liters and 7,200 bottles of 1.5 liters) in one shift of 8
hours. It has an installed capacity to produce bottles (approximately 3,291 in 6-liter
bottles). However, it is estimated that the plant will operate at 65% availability in the first
year, reaching a maximum availability of 95% in 5% increments. About 9% is required to
carry out the PET bottle manufacturing operations, including the owner and manager.
The relevant experience of entrepreneurs in the plastics industry and the selection of
suitable systems and machines are the most important factors for the success of this
project. The legal form of business of this company is partnership.

1.5- Marketing Overview:

The plastic bottles market was valued at USD 84.3 billion in 2019 and is
projected to reach USD 114.6 billion by 2025, growing at a CAGR of 6.64%
during the forecast period (2020-2025). The use of PET bottles allows up to
90% weight savings compared to glass and above all an economical
transport process. PET plastic bottles are now replacing heavy and fragile
glass bottles in many products for reusable packaging of beverages such
as mineral water.

According to the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA), bottled

water is the most consumed beverage product in the United States. He
also reported that the IBWA reported average US bottled water sales of
$18.5 billion, an average increase of 8.8%. Per capita consumption also
surpassed 42 gallons of bottled water, up 6.2%. This upward trend is likely
to continue, boosting demand for his PET bottles for packaging. The food
and beverage segment is the largest source of demand for PET packaging
products. According to the British Plastics Federation (BPF), over 70% of
soft drinks on the global market are packaged in PET bottles. In contrast,
only 30% of his is packed in other packaging materials such as glass
bottles, metal cans and paper-based cartons. Manufacturers prefer his PET
over other plastic packaging products due to the minimal loss of raw
materials during the manufacturing process. It is a preferred choice as it is
highly recyclable and can be added in multiple colors and designs.

As consumers become more environmentally conscious, refillable products

are also emerging, creating demand for their products. With the spread of
6|Page

the new coronavirus infection, the PET bottle market suffered a significant
decline in sales due to the impact of a decline in demand for PET resin
due to supply chain disruptions and lockdowns in various countries.
Additionally, various festivals, sporting events, exhibitions and other large
gatherings around the world have been canceled, with people staying at
home and many government reserves being protected as a precautionary
measure to contain the virus. Flights were stopped and tourism changed.
Unless these sectors perform well, the demand for PET bottles will shrink
significantly.

1.6- Quality Policy:

Maintaining high standards of quality in all TransPET PLASTIC operations
and services is critical to our long-term success. This commitment serves
both our customers and our company.

Everyone at TransPET PLASTIC strives to do their part and do a good job

when this strategy is put into action.

You undertake to:

 Maintaining an efficient management structure is essential to meet

the needs of our customers.
 Monitor, evaluate and improve the quality of our work.
 Educate employees about current standards and how their actions
affect quality results.

3- SWOT Analysis:

3.1- Strengths:

 There is always demand for new products.

 The supply of reusable bottles such as water bottles is increasing.
 Substitute items are functionally equivalent to plastic ones (e.g. wooden
muddler)

3.2- Weaknesses:

 Weight, volume, and/or cost of substitute items complicates purchase and

subsequent transportation (e.g., returnable takeout containers).
 People sometimes forget about reusable items and buy disposable items every
time
 Insufficient implementation of measures to prevent littering.
 Lack of public funding for local governments to improve facilities (e.g., trash cans
and refill stations).
 The environmental impact of alternative options may be greater (e.g.,
transporting glass bottles makes his CO2 emissions higher).
 Alternate Items Still Disposable

3.3- Opportunities

 New legislation and/or policy goals could help increase the availability of
reusable items (such as coffee cups) and/or dedicated recycling schemes (such
as food packaging and incense packaging).
 Charities and other businesses can promote and raise funds for reusable battles,
mugs, and bags.

9|Page
TransPET Plastic Industry, Lahore

 The availability and sustainability of biodegradable or reusable products can be

improved not only through policymaking and legislation, but also through public
and corporate support.
 A ban on single-use items can help foster alternative product development and/or
behavior change (e.g., reduce use of non-essential items).

3.4- Threats:

 People may be satisfied with positive changes and ignore other changes they
may make (e.g., moral license).
 People may throw paper and wooden items into the environment because they
consider them environmentally friendly.
 The production and transport of some alternative materials (such as bamboo)
may have higher greenhouse gas emissions than plastic products.
 Demand for wood, paper and cotton could unduly drive deforestation and
environmental degradation

4- Marketing Strategy:

PET bottles, which are primarily used to bundle food and beverages, are made
from a plastic juice called polyethylene terephthalate (PET). They are a force
field for weight reduction and impermeable to carbon dioxide.

Worldwide The global PET jar market is developing in salad dressings, water,
juices, household cleaners, sodas, oils, personal care, and drugs. Bundling
carbonated soda tends to overflow his PET containers, further increasing market
interest in his PET jugs around the world. Factors such as high simplicity, high
reliability, high pressure resistance, glossy surface, excellent rim properties, and
light weight of the item are expected to bring more market interest to his PET jars
around the world in the coming years. increase.

5- Competitive Strategy:

TRANSPET Plastics Industry offers quality PET bottles at affordable prices with
all the features that premium PET bottles offer.

6- Business process Analysis:

6.1- Plastic Bottle Manufacturing Process

How are PET bottles made? Bottles are usually molded by blow molding.

6.2- Reheat and Blow Molding Bottles

Injection molding is the first step in a typical two-step bottle manufacturing

process using a heat and blow molding machine (RBM). Plastic pellets are
plasticized inside the cylinder of an injection molding machine. Here the plastic is
liquefied by the heat and the shearing effect of the screw conveyor. The plastic is
then poured into a multi-cavity mold and waited to form an elongated cylinder.
These cylinders, called preforms, typically contain bound necks and strings that
are used to cover the container during transportation. PET preforms or
reconstructs are much smaller than full bottles, making them easier to transport
to packaging offices.

During the reheating process, preforms are stacked on a feeder and sent to a
sorter. The sorter sorts the preforms to the blow molding machine for further
processing. The preform is heated by passing through quartz heaters and
entering mold. Here, a thin steel rod called a mandrel is pushed into the neck of
the performer, where it is filled with high-pressure air and stretch his blow

11 | P a g e
TransPET Plastic Industry, Lahore

molding begins. It is clamped in mold and the shape of the container is expected.
This interaction creates what we call a biaxial bottle that provides optimal CO2
control for carbonated beverages.
The mold must cool relatively quickly to properly cure the just-formed part. There
are both immediate cooling and situational cooling methods that can be used to
properly cool the mold and plastic. Water flows through tubes surrounding the
mold, bypassing the mold and plastic to cool them. Direct methods use
compressed air or carbon dioxide directly on the mold or plastic.

Once the bottle (or the bottle to be assembled later) has cooled and hardened, it
can be removed from the mold. If a consistent landscaping process is used, the
center of the pitcher should be maintained to separate the pitchers. Using an
inconsistent cycle can cause a large amount of plastic to ooze out of the mold
during assembly and must be controlled. After removing the container from the
mold and removing excess plastic, the plastic container is ready for shipping or
filling.

6.3- Extrusion Blow Molding Bottles

Other bottle manufacturing processes include parison development and blow

molding in a constant cycle. Such machines are continuous dischargers in which
the extruder continuously discharges preforms. In the injection blow molding
cycle, the parison is clamped upwards, and the wall thickness is varied by
changing the size of the hole through which the parison is injected. The mold part
closes on a suspended prison and moves to the blow molding station where the
container is framed as the second step in his RBM cycle mentioned above.
Varying wall thickness addresses the issue of unevenness in suspended
preforms. This is because the weight of the assembled pieces causes the hot
formed segments to stretch upward in a sense. The result is increased wall
thickness as the preform structure provides a uniform thickness throughout
development.

7- Basics of preparing annual financial statements:

We maintain books and records for each TP division, each division being treated
as an independent entity with its own books of accounts. The company's
accounting department tracks all money and controls investments. Departmental
funds are disbursed in lump sums or transferred to other areas as needed.
There are costs involved in providing goods and services to recipients in
furtherance of company-established goals and activities. Each division is
responsible for its share of T.P. administrative fee. The services provided to the
company's creditors are the principal source of its receivables. Payments of
monetary obligations are recorded as cash receipts. Employee Gratuity and
Redundancy Fund For all full-time employees, T.P. will set aside two months of
her earnings for each year of service (based on last basic salary) as severance
and bonus funds. For accounting purposes, accruals are calculated monthly.

Upon retirement, workers are entitled to severance pay, but workers dismissed
because of layoffs are entitled to severance pay. Cash and cash equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents in the statement of cash flows include cash on hand
and bank balances and unsecured term deposits net of overdrafts.

Retention of Bill Voucher:

All documents, receipts, invoices, files, and registers are destroyed after 5 years.
What is included in may be needed in the future. The Commission will decide on
the disposition.

Discarded items should be documented. payments can be categorized as

follows:

Internal Payments:
Internal payments are payments made for internal issues.
a- Some payments are Salaries: In dollar terms, salaries are one of the largest
monthly payments. A TP has a payroll department responsible for paying its
employees. See the next section for salary information.
b- Staff Final Payment: If an employee resigns, terminates, fires or removes
her T.P., he is entitled to final payment. Before receiving final payment, the
employee must first obtain approval from their supervisor and other relevant
departments (transportation, library, human resources, etc.). Bonuses,
reserves, vacation pay, etc. are all part of the final payout.
c- Payment of other expenses: Transportation expenses, local transportation
expenses, overtime, daily allowance. Invoices are prepared by employees
and submitted to their supervisors for approval. The tax office will then
process the payment. A tax accountant prepares a payment slip. Vouchers
must be approved by the department's Chief Accountant.

External payments:
External payments are most international remittances used to purchase
goods and services from other countries. These costs are just the tip of the
iceberg when it comes to housing, property, equipment, utilities, and office
rent for the semester. The "Purchasing Handbook" will help guide you through
all your purchasing decisions. After fulfilling the contract, the supplier or
contractor submits the invoice to the purchasing department for approval.

a- Provident Fund Officially appointed persons may participate in the

PISFT Contribution Fund (PF). The institution will match monthly

14 | P a g e
TransPET Plastic Industry, Lahore

contributions of non-faculty staff of 10% with monthly faculty contributions

of 5% of base salary.
b- Income tax Income above the taxable threshold is subject to withholding
tax under the Income Tax Regulations 1984. Amounts withheld will be
paid into the appropriate government account within the required time.
Taxes are calculated automatically from computerized payroll. This
obligation is met by deducting wages in equal monthly installments over a
period of 12 months.
c- Cashing against future pay (interest-free, by promissory note) If an
employee takes leave before the regular payday and does not return by
that date, the employee is entitled to half a month’s pay in advance. . IOUs
serve as a form of prepayment. The employee completes her IOU form,
obtains approval from her department, and submits it to her accountant for
final approval.

Human Resources:
I tried to blend my understanding of academic personnel with the practical
experience of an internship. Through these efforts, we have tried to
communicate our understanding of the various responsibilities of human
resources management, including recruitment, selection, compensation
and benefits, and training and development. To conclude this study, I
conducted his SWOT analysis of her HRM practice at Alliance Capital and
described its key features. I did my best to draw conclusions and make
suggestions based on what I learned during my internship. Addressing
human resource management decisions and actions that affect or affect
an organization's human resources is considered part of human resource
management. Human resource management has received a lot of
attention in recent years. This increased focus is a result of the realization
that human resource management is critical to a company's success.
Because people are what make a company possible in the first place.

15 | P a g e
TransPET Plastic Industry, Lahore

Initial and continuing education

Training and Improvement Human resource management includes training
as one of its key functions. Companies invest time and effort in training
their employees in the hope that they will be more productive in the future.
Below are some stages of the onboarding process. Through onboarding,
newcomers receive the basic knowledge they need to do a good job in
their first months of work. Many companies offer orientation interviews to
new hires. The purpose of the orientation program is to make new hires
feel comfortable, educate them about the company's mission and culture,
and set standards of behavior expected of them as employees. Employee
training approaches, methods and strategies are established. Companies
go through all the training to clearly show what is expected of their
employees.
Career Advancement:
The steps are outlined below. Transitioning just means looking for a job
and preparing for a career. In transition, you work to prepare for a new
career or change careers completely. A person has a special interest in a
career in a particular field. The first five to ten years of working life are
considered the early stages of a career. Mid-career recruitment is from the
5th to 20th year of service. A late career begins after 20 years in
professional life. People retire when they reach the end of their working
life. Using Motivation to Manage People To get the most out of people,
you need to motivate them to work. A high level of commitment to
company goals is a sign of employee engagement. This commitment is
based on an individual's recognition that their needs are being met
through the efforts of the organization. Keeping your employees happy
and inspired is critical for many reasons, including reducing turnover and
absenteeism. I need a pay raise, building insurance, and a social security
certificate. These are examples of typical ways to inspire others. Through
HRM, the government wants to build a more open, flexible, and caring
management culture. In practice, being “open” means giving employees a

16 | P a g e
TransPET Plastic Industry, Lahore

voice, taking their feedback seriously, and implementing their ideas and
suggestions. If you want to be "flexible", you may have to abandon certain
practices that have been established over the years. Perhaps the biggest
obstacle to employee engagement is shifting the focus from the problem
and the culprit (police action) to those responsible for doing things right
(coach action). To be a "caring" leader, the leader must be human and
able to support each team her member on an individual level while
meeting the collective emotional needs of the group. Modern workers
expect to be seen as an integral part of every decision that affects their
work. Inspiring your employees is as easy as asking for ideas. Having
highly motivated employees who are up to date in skills, knowledge and
talents is the primary focus of all motivational functions.

8- Duties and Accomplishments:

7.1- Duties:

I was responsible for observing employees and their work, creating reports, and
commenting on employees. We also conducted interviews with employees to
learn more about their jobs and their thoughts on their jobs. I developed effective
writing and communication skills as I had to speak to both educated and
uneducated employees. How to manage employee job satisfaction and
dissatisfaction, the skills employees need to operate machinery, and the
associated risks.

Maintenance
Employers should make employee retention a priority, as caring for employees is
essential to keeping them close. All employees must fully understand the
personnel policies relating to occupational health and safety before performing
their jobs safely. There's no need to distract your attention or slow down your

17 | P a g e
TransPET Plastic Industry, Lahore

performance for distractions. Each day, management of Transpet Plastic

Industry (PVT) LTD determines the number and type of employees required to
complete the day's tasks. The organizational structure of a wealth management
company therefore plays a role in identifying desirable qualities in potential
employees. To ensure that there is a sufficient skilled workforce to carry out the
plans made during strategic planning. We believe that the best results come from
the efforts of motivated and empowered individuals.

7.2- Accomplishments:

I have done a lot in my previous internships. I learned how to use the tools,
connected to the account and his team, and worked with my own network. I think
networking is sometimes forgotten in internships. The idea is that if you do a
good job, you will be hired. TransPET is a very social company and the more
people you know, the more likely you are to be hired. With that in mind, I paid
extra attention to my networking. Continually expanding my network of contacts
and staying in touch with these contacts is very important to me. See if the
position is a good fit for you.

9- How internship influence my career:

 An activity that teaches the use of intelligence. Develop skills by applying

understanding to the real world. These skills will help you in your future
career as it was a kind of practical life. In the future, it will be relatively
easy to establish itself in any organization. The theoretically studied
knowledge was applied in this way. It was fun and interesting to apply
theoretical knowledge in practice. The environment was also cozy and
friendly. The company has good safety programs and ventilation for its
employees. These skills will help you in your future career as it was kind of
a hands-on life. In the future, it will be relatively easy to establish itself in
any organization. The theoretically studied knowledge was applied in this

18 | P a g e
TransPET Plastic Industry, Lahore

way. It was fun and interesting to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.

The environment was also cozy and friendly. The company has good
safety programs and ventilation for its employees. I wanted to become a
manager of a famous organization, so I learned my skills by watching the
work of managers. my manager's communication with employees and
subordinates, his style and demeanor, his behavior in the office, his
behavior towards visitors, his daily meetings, his interactions with upper
and lower management, All of that. Skills can also help you in your
professional career. Task Discovery is a trial without experience.
Therefore, to gain experience, you need to get a job. It is an offensive
activity and getting a position in a good organization is also a problem.
Internships provide students with an opportunity to get to know the
profession better. All of these have proven to be very useful in my future
career in some ways.
 Offer schemes for professional or industry acquaintances.
 Provide a vision and perspective on what it takes to be successful in this
field.
 Made a modest gain in cross-examination. An activity that teaches you to
keep your intelligence in action.
 Encourage skills by applying understanding to real-world environments.

10-Key Conclusions from Internship Experience:

The 7-week internship was very helpful in applying my theoretical knowledge and
gaining experience in the real world of business. All managers and employees,
including my boss, have given me a lot of knowledge and skills. The corporate
environment is safe and comfortable. I spent time in different departments and
acquired knowledge of work techniques. Focus on specialists and hire specialists
and general staff as needed.

19 | P a g e
TransPET Plastic Industry, Lahore

The company is big enough with different departments. I haven't done most of
the tasks yet, so my experience is mostly observational, but I have a better
understanding of how to do them. How do different departments such as
marketing work? How do you generate sales? How do you satisfy your
customers and consumers? How are budgets set? How are transactions
managed? We observed and learned how real work is done in real life.

11- Conclusion of the report and Internee part:

Features are simply called the backbone of the company. If not done properly, it
can disrupt or affect other functions as well as the overall efficiency of the
organization. Unfortunately, for small business owners and investors, the
accounting function is less important. Change and innovation are always hard to
accept, especially for people in conservative societies and those who have no or
no traditional education. As a result, it is the resistance to change combined with
ignorance of profit that leads to such neglected placement of the accounting
function in small businesses. The case has been widely discussed in his
TRANSPET plastics industry as these small businesses have grown into large
corporations as family businesses.

My internship at Transpet in the plastics industry gave me the opportunity to put

into practice the talents and skills I had acquired in my studies and to acquire a
wide range of knowledge. It also helped me learn more about Pakistan's
manufacturing sector, its processes, products, and services. In this report, we
have tried our best to provide you with very informative and helpful details about
internships in the TRANSPET plastics industry serve others. I was fortunate
enough to have an internship here, which allowed me to thoroughly analyze the
working environment of this company from a personal and external perspective.
After my internship at TRANSPET Plastic Industry, I have a lot of knowledge
about Pakistan's plastic industry and how much it can grow and how fast it is
growing.

20 | P a g e
TransPET Plastic Industry, Lahore

One is the experience of enterprise knowledge. The company isn't doing very
well, they must take over the corporate world, but there are too many people to
know how it will play out in the Pakistani scenario. It's been a very busy 7 weeks.
must admit. They didn't mind at all that I was an intern at their office. It's fun, but
of course it also comes with responsibility. I have a different job every day. i have
to do my job. I really did my best. I came to the conclusion that I can work in the
corporate sector, but I have to work hard for my students in front of well-educated
workers.

12- Recommendations:

Weaknesses or Key Factors:

Weak corporate culture (lack of cross-departmental communication).

 Employees are stressed by management.
 Non-Participatory Management.
 Lack of a fully functioning and empowered HR department

Recommendations for improvement:

The company itself is a paragon of excellence and has won many awards for its
service and quality products. But in everything there is always room for
improvement.

For companies, we recommend:

 The company doesn't pay much attention to personnel. Most decision-
making authority rests in the hands of the Managing Director.
 I have concluded that each department within the organization is not
functioning well and that all departments need to be properly integrated.
 Due to the lack of education within the organization, the company has to
introduce workshops to train employees.

21 | P a g e
TransPET Plastic Industry, Lahore

 To select prices and new consumer needs, companies need to conduct

research. The organization has a weak culture.
