Genesis Chapter 8 ‫ית‬ ‫ְּב ֵר אִׁש‬

‫ ְו ֵא ת‬, ‫ֹנַח‬-‫ ֶא ת‬,‫ַוִּיְז ֹּכר ֱא ֹלִה ים‬  ‫א‬ 1 And God remembered Noah, and every
living thing, and all the cattle that were with
‫ ֲא ֶׁש ר ִא ּתֹו‬,‫ַה ְּב ֵה ָמ ה‬-‫ָּכל‬-‫ַה ַח ָּיה ְו ֶא ת‬-‫ָּכל‬ him in the ark; and God made a wind to pass
,‫ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬-‫ַּב ֵּת ָב ה; ַוַּיֲעֵב ר ֱא ֹלִה ים רּוַח ַע ל‬ over the earth, and the waters assuaged;
.‫ַוָּיֹׁשּכּו ַה ָּמ ִים‬
‫ ַוֲא ֻר ֹּבת‬,‫ַוִּיָּס ְכ רּו ַמ ְע ְיֹנת ְּת הֹום‬  ‫ב‬ 2 the fountains also of the deep and the
windows of heaven were stopped, and the
.‫ַה ָּׁש ָמ ִים‬-‫ ִמ ן‬,‫ַה ָּׁש ָמ ִים; ַוִּיָּכֵלא ַה ֶּגֶׁש ם‬ rain from heaven was restrained.
‫ ָה לֹוְך‬,‫ַוָּיֻׁש בּו ַה ַּמ ִים ֵמ ַע ל ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬  ‫ג‬ 3 And the waters returned from off the earth
continually; and after the end of a hundred
‫ ֲח ִמ ִּׁש ים‬,‫ִמ ְק ֵצ ה‬--‫ָוׁשֹוב; ַוַּיְח ְס רּו ַה ַּמ ִים‬ and fifty days the waters decreased.
.‫ּוְמ ַא ת יֹום‬
,‫ַוָּת ַנח ַה ֵּת ָב ה ַּב ֹחֶד ׁש ַה ְּׁש ִב יִע י‬  ‫ד‬ 4 And the ark rested in the seventh month, on
the seventeenth day of the month, upon the
‫ ָה ֵר י‬,‫ ַע ל‬,‫ָע ָׂש ר יֹום ַלֹחֶד ׁש‬-‫ְּב ִׁש ְב ָע ה‬ mountains of Ararat.
.‫ֲא ָר ָר ט‬
,‫ ַע ד‬,‫ ָה יּו ָה לֹוְך ְו ָח סֹור‬,‫ְו ַה ַּמ ִים‬  ‫ה‬ 5 And the waters decreased continually until
the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the
,‫ַה ֹחֶד ׁש ָה ֲעִׂש יִר י; ָּב ֲעִׂש יִר י ְּב ֶא ָח ד ַלֹחֶד ׁש‬ first day of the month, were the tops of the
.‫ִנְר אּו ָר אֵׁש י ֶה ָה ִר ים‬ mountains seen.
, ‫ ִמ ֵּק ץ ַא ְר ָּב ִע ים יֹום; ַוִּיְפ ַּת ח ֹנַח‬,‫ַוְיִה י‬  ‫ו‬ 6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days,
that Noah opened the window of the ark
.‫ַח ּלֹון ַה ֵּת ָב ה ֲא ֶׁש ר ָע ָׂש ה‬-‫ֶא ת‬ which he had made.
‫ָה ֹעֵר ב; ַוֵּיֵצ א ָיצֹוא‬-‫ ֶא ת‬,‫ַוְיַׁש ַּלח‬  ‫ז‬ 7 And he sent forth a raven, and it went forth
to and fro, until the waters were dried up
.‫ְיֹבֶׁש ת ַה ַּמ ִים ֵמ ַע ל ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬-‫ ַע ד‬,‫ָוׁשֹוב‬ from off the earth.
‫ִלְר אֹות‬--‫ ֵמ ִא ּתֹו‬,‫ַה ּיֹוָנה‬-‫ַוְיַׁש ַּלח ֶא ת‬  ‫ח‬ 8 And he sent forth a dove from him, to see if
the waters were abated from off the face of
.‫ ֵמ ַע ל ְּפ ֵני ָה ֲא ָד ָמ ה‬,‫ֲה ַק ּלּו ַה ַּמ ִים‬ the ground.
,‫ַר ְג ָלּה‬-‫ָמ ְצ ָא ה ַה ּיֹוָנה ָמ נֹוַח ְלַכף‬-‫ְו ֹלא‬  ‫ט‬ 9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of
her foot, and she returned unto him to the ark,
,‫ַמ ִים‬-‫ִּכ י‬--‫ַה ֵּת ָב ה‬-‫ַוָּת ָׁש ב ֵא ָליו ֶא ל‬ for the waters were on the face of the whole
, ‫ָה ָא ֶר ץ; ַוִּיְׁש ַלח ָידֹו ַוִּיָּק ֶח ָה‬-‫ְּפ ֵני ָכל‬-‫ַע ל‬ earth; and he put forth his hand, and took her,
.‫ַה ֵּת ָב ה‬-‫ַוָּיֵב א ֹאָת ּה ֵא ָליו ֶא ל‬ and brought her in unto him into the ark.
 ;‫ ִׁש ְב ַע ת ָיִמ ים ֲא ֵח ִר ים‬,‫ַוָּיֶח ל עֹוד‬  ‫י‬ 10 And he stayed yet other seven days; and
again he sent forth the dove out of the ark.
.‫ַה ֵּת ָב ה‬-‫ ִמ ן‬,‫ַה ּיֹוָנה‬-‫ַוֹּיֶס ף ַׁש ַּלח ֶא ת‬
‫ ְו ִה ֵּנה‬,‫ַוָּת ֹבא ֵא ָליו ַה ּיֹוָנה ְלֵע ת ֶע ֶר ב‬  ‫יא‬ 11 And the dove came in to him at eventide;
and lo in her mouth an olive-leaf freshly
‫ַק ּלּו‬-‫ ִּכ י‬, ‫ַזִית ָט ָר ף ְּב ִפ יָה ; ַוֵּיַד ע ֹנַח‬-‫ֲעֵלה‬ plucked; so Noah knew that the waters were
.‫ַה ַּמ ִים ֵמ ַע ל ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬ abated from off the earth.
;‫ ִׁש ְב ַע ת ָיִמ ים ֲא ֵח ִר ים‬,‫ַוִּיָּיֶח ל עֹוד‬  ‫יב‬ 12 And he stayed yet other seven days; and
sent forth the dove; and she returned not
‫ָיְס ָפה‬-‫ ְו ֹלא‬,‫ַה ּיֹוָנה‬-‫ ֶא ת‬,‫ַוְיַׁש ַּלח‬ again unto him any more.
.‫ עֹוד‬,‫ֵא ָליו‬-‫ׁשּוב‬
,‫ֵמ אֹות ָׁש ָנה‬-‫ַוְיִה י ְּב ַא ַח ת ְו ֵׁש ׁש‬  ‫יג‬ 13 And it came to pass in the six hundred and
first year, in the first month, the first day of
,‫ ָח ְר בּו ַה ַּמ ִים‬,‫ָּב ִר אׁשֹון ְּב ֶא ָח ד ַלֹחֶד ׁש‬ the month, the waters were dried up from off
‫ִמ ְכ ֵס ה‬-‫ ֶא ת‬, ‫ֵמ ַע ל ָה ָא ֶר ץ; ַוָּיַס ר ֹנַח‬ the earth; and Noah removed the covering of
.‫ ְו ִה ֵּנה ָח ְר בּו ְּפ ֵני ָה ֲא ָד ָמ ה‬,‫ ַוַּיְר א‬,‫ַה ֵּת ָב ה‬ the ark, and looked, and behold, the face of
the ground was dried.
‫ ְּב ִׁש ְב ָע ה ְו ֶע ְׂש ִר ים‬,‫ ַה ֵּׁש ִני‬,‫ּוַב ֹחֶד ׁש‬  ‫יד‬ 14 And in the second month, on the seven and
twentieth day of the month, was the earth
}‫ {ס‬ .‫ ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬,‫ָיְב ָׁש ה‬--‫ ַלֹחֶד ׁש‬,‫יֹום‬ dry. {S}
.‫ֹנַח ֵלאֹמר‬-‫ ֶא ל‬,‫ַוְיַד ֵּב ר ֱא ֹלִה ים‬  ‫טו‬ 15 And God spoke unto Noah, saying:

‫ ְו ִא ְׁש ְּת ָך‬,‫ַא ָּת ה‬--‫ַה ֵּת ָב ה‬-‫ ִמ ן‬,‫ֵצ א‬  ‫טז‬ 16 'Go forth from the ark, thou, and thy wife,
and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee.
.‫ָב ֶניָך ִא ָּת ְך‬-‫ּוָב ֶניָך ּוְנֵׁש י‬
,‫ָּב ָׂש ר‬-‫ִא ְּת ָך ִמ ָּכל‬-‫ַה ַח ָּיה ֲא ֶׁש ר‬-‫ָּכל‬  ‫יז‬ 17 Bring forth with thee every living thing
that is with thee of all flesh, both fowl, and
‫ָה ֶר ֶמ ׂש ָה ֹרֵמ ׂש‬-‫ָּב עֹוף ּוַב ְּב ֵה ָמ ה ּוְב ָכל‬ cattle, and every creeping thing that creepeth
‫הוצא (ַה ְיֵצ א) ִא ָּת ְך; ְו ָׁש ְר צּו‬--‫ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬-‫ַע ל‬ upon the earth; that they may swarm in the
.‫ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬-‫ ּוָפרּו ְו ָר בּו ַע ל‬,‫ָב ָא ֶר ץ‬ earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the
earth.'
,‫ָב ָניו‬-‫ֹנַח ; ּוָב ָניו ְו ִא ְׁש ּתֹו ּוְנֵׁש י‬-‫ַוֵּיֵצ א‬  ‫יח‬ 18 And Noah went forth, and his sons, and
his wife, and his sons' wives with him;
.‫ִא ּתֹו‬
,‫ָה עֹוף‬-‫ָה ֶר ֶמ ׂש ְו ָכל‬-‫ ָּכל‬,‫ַה ַח ָּיה‬-‫ָּכל‬  ‫יט‬ 19 every beast, every creeping thing, and
every fowl, whatsoever moveth upon the
,‫ְלִמ ְׁש ְּפ ֹחֵת יֶה ם‬--‫ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬-‫ רֹוֵמ ׂש ַע ל‬,‫ֹּכל‬ earth, after their families; went forth out of
.‫ַה ֵּת ָב ה‬-‫ָיְצ אּו ִמ ן‬ the ark.
‫ ַליהָוה; ַוִּיַּק ח ִמ ֹּכל‬, ‫ַוִּיֶב ן ֹנַח ִמ ְז ֵּב ַח‬  ‫כ‬ 20 And Noah builded an altar unto the
LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of
,‫ ּוִמ ֹּכל ָה עֹוף ַה ָּט הֹור‬,‫ַה ְּב ֵה ָמ ה ַה ְּט ֹהָר ה‬ every clean fowl, and offered burnt-offerings
. ‫ ַּב ִּמ ְז ֵּב ַח‬,‫ַוַּיַע ל ֹעֹלת‬ on the altar.
, ‫ֵר יַח ַה ִּניֹחַח‬-‫ ֶא ת‬,‫ַוָּיַר ח ְיהָוה‬  ‫כא‬ 21 And the LORD smelled the sweet savour;
and the LORD said in His heart: 'I will not
‫ֹאִס ף ְלַק ֵּלל‬-‫ִלּבֹו ֹלא‬-‫ַוֹּיאֶמ ר ְיהָוה ֶא ל‬ again curse the ground any more for man's
 ‫ ִּכ י‬,‫ָה ֲא ָד ָמ ה ַּב ֲעבּור ָה ָא ָד ם‬-‫עֹוד ֶא ת‬ sake; for the imagination of man's heart is
evil from his youth; neither will I again smite
‫ֹאִס ף‬-‫ֵיֶצ ר ֵלב ָה ָא ָד ם ַר ע ִמ ְּנֻעָר יו; ְו ֹלא‬ any more every thing living, as I have done.
.‫ ַּכֲא ֶׁש ר ָע ִׂש יִת י‬,‫ַח י‬-‫ָּכל‬-‫עֹוד ְלַה ּכֹות ֶא ת‬
‫ ֶזַר ע ְו ָק ִצ יר‬ :‫ְיֵמ י ָה ָא ֶר ץ‬-‫ ָּכל‬,‫ֹעד‬  ‫כב‬ 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and
harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and
‫ֹלא‬--‫ ְו יֹום ָוַלְיָלה‬,‫ְו ֹקר ָוֹחם ְו ַק ִיץ ָוֹחֶר ף‬ winter, and day and night shall not cease.'
.‫ִיְׁש ֹּבתּו‬
