Module 58

The module supports tuning and repair of DSG and CVT ECUs. It can write firmware via OBD, and also work in BOOT mode for direct access to read and write CPU memory and external EEPROM without opening the ECU. BOOT mode requires a direct connection to the gearbox connector and is recommended to use automatic power control. The module supports various DSG and CVT models for tuning and repair work.

Module 58

The module is designed for working with DSG and CVT ECUs. It supports writing via "OBD" (tuning),
and work in the BOOT mode (repair) – reading and writing of CPU memory and external eeprom.
The BOOT mode requires direct connection to the gearbox connector without opening the ECU.
Working via OBD is supported for UDS ECUs.

Working via OBD: the same as with other modules. If writing is interrupted, you can switch off the
ignition and then write. If the ECU is bricked with a bad file you can recover it in the BOOT mode.

BOOT mode: direct connection to the ECU connector, power is switched either manually or
(HIGHLY recommended) with the help of automatic power control working from L-Line (like
PowerBox for PCMFlash). In case of manual control the BOOT mode can be accessed not from the
first attempt.

DQ500 reading: Only via direct connection! NB: power should be commuted manually, ignition (pin
15) should be turned on/off, the second contact should be always on!

Working in BSL with VL300/V30: You need to drill one hole of minimum diameter in the lid in order to
insert a pin into it. The pin is to be connected to the ground via a 1Ohm resistor. It is obligatory to
connect K-Line and it is highly recommended to use autopower to find the correct boot pin on the
board as soon as possible. In the photos below you can see the drilling location and the point on the
board where the pin should get.
Connection diagram:

Red - +12V, black - ground, yellow - CAN-HIGH, blue - CAN-LOW.

Cloning procedure: read MICRO and EEPROM from the old gearbox, write MICRO and EEPROM to
a new one.
