In a school setting, creating a supportive and caring environment is important.

Young people are

likely to behave and perform more positively in a classroom and school in which they feel safe
and accepted. It also focuses on the role of teachers in promoting resilience and well-being in
the classrooms, how they need to be aware of caring relationships, positive expectations and
providing opportunities for participation to the students. Apart from families, schools are the
most important agents that provide access to protective processes and resources that promote
student well-being and resilience.
President Manuel A. Roxas Memorial School - North ensures the safety of its pupils, teachers,
and stakeholders is highly prioritized by providing them with explicit awareness on our school
hazards, mental and psychosocial condition including the security and peace and order
situation.
Considering the importance of the safety net school-aged children, school personnel,
stakeholders, and in pursuance to Deped order No. 50 s. 2011 entitled the creation of Disaster
Risk Reduction and Management, our school has strictly implemented this safety hazard
preparedness from the DRRM action plan: General safety hazards, fire/short circuits,
earthquake, flood, and other related problems encountered in school safety hazard
preparedness. We have put up a DRRM - Awareness Park where learners can grasp
information regarding Disaster preparedness. This particular park is surrounded by the
information related on how to become aware and prepared when the disaster comes,
this park has mural painting composed of ideas related to calamities on what is the best
thing to be done before, during and after the disasters. Awareness among stakeholders is
imperative so as to encourage involvement and participation of the school and community.
To help ensure that the mental health and psychosocial well-being of learners are given most
attention, as the country transitions back to in-person classes, PMRMS – North have conducted
psychosocial support activities on the first week of classes.
Our school have one security guard that will help our teaching personnel maintain peace and
order during classes hours. As a facility where schoolchildren are able to learn a range of core
competencies prescribed by DEPED we aim to ensure the safety of our pupils at school and
prevent the disruption of classes. Maintaining some type of discipline --or, to put it another way--
some form of peace, pupils are strictly prohibited from using any dangerous weapons at school.
They are also taught the importance of peace and how important it is for everyone to get along
and work together.
