Inserting a Picture Follow these steps: 1. Click on the Insert tab. 2. Click on the Pictures option in the Images group. A drop-down list appears. Choose This Device... option from the list. The selected picture gets added to the slide in the center. Formatting Shapes The Format tab under Drawing Tools appears when we click on the inserted shape. To display the Shape Styles gallery, click on the More = button (Fig. 4.6). INSERTING ACTION BUTTONS Action Buttons are built-in shapes that can be set to move to another slide, open afile, play a video or perform asimilar action when the user clicks on them. Follow these steps: 1. Click on the Insert tab. 2. Click on the Shapes option in the \Wlustrations group. During the slide show, when we will click the Action Button, the linked slide is displayed. It helps us insert text in various styles in a document. It can also be used in PowerPoint slides to emphasise text. For this, click on the WordArt option on the Insert tab (Fig. 4.12). We can also convert existing text on the slide to WordArt. Follow these steps: 1. Select the text. 2. Click on the Format tab. 3. Click on the drop-down arrow in the WordArt Styles group. A list of various text style appears. 4. Select the desired text style. We will notice that the selected text gets formatted according to the chosen style. We can now format the WordArt text by choosing the appropriate options for fill color, outline style and text effect on the Format tab. Select the Picture or texture fill radio button to use a picture as the slide background. Select the Gradient fill radio button to apply a blend of two or more fill colors as the slide background Select the Pattern fill radio button to apply a pattern as the slide background. 4. Click on the Color drop-down arrow and select the color to be applied. The background of the slide changes according to the selected options. 5. Click Apply to All button to apply the same background style to all the slides in the presentation.
