SCHOOL-BASED MID-YEAR IN-SERVICE TRAINING ON LITERACY
INSTRUCTION
II. Background
Literacy instruction provides learners with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively,
which is the foundation of 1st century skills. When they can't read effectively, they become
discouraged and dissatisfied at school, which can lead to dropouts, low standardized test performance,
increased absenteeism, and other negative consequences. Literate learners can assist generate
interested literacy who come to love the act of studying by teaching them to communicate effectively.
This is why it's vital to give focus on our literacy-skills-teaching approach in the classroom.
The School-Based Mid-Year In-Service Training on Literacy Instruction is one of the
effective ways to cope up with the needs of the teachers and learners will be conducted on February 2,
2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Pinagbobong Elementary School, Tabaco City as compliance
III. Objectives
A. Terminal Objective:
To improve learners’ performance and enhance teaching competencies of all Teachers in
the implementation of the K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum.
B. Enabling Objectives:
1. Equip the teachers-participants with the appropriate knowledge and individual practices
in teaching literacy skills.
2. Intensify literacy practices in and out of the classroom to close achievement gaps and
promote value of learning.

To enhance the innovative methods of learner’s development, this activity is based on

NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE SCHOOL- BASED MID-YEAR
IN SERVICE TRAINING ON LITERACY INSTUCTION
February 2, 2022
Pinagbobong Elementary School conducted the School-Based Mid-Year In-Service
Training on Literacy Instruction for the session 3 and 4 held last February 2, 2022.
It was started with the registration at 7:30 in the morning. It was followed with the
simple/opening program. Mrs. Syrobbie Ballon, the facilitator of the day discussed the topic
on Raising Learners’ Phonological Awareness as Foundational Skill to Decoding.
A fifteen minute- break was given to the participants. The workshop on Phonemes
Segmentation was discussed and the participants were grouped into three then they were
tasked to present their output.
The participants were backed at 1:30 in the afternoon for the next session. Before
the start of the discussion of the next topic, an energizer was performed by the participants.
Ms. Erica Eliza Belleza, LAC Leader, clearly discussed Teaching Phonics and Word
Recognition for Successful Decoding. A video presentation was viewed then the participants
shared their ideas during the discussion. The discussant gave the group workshop then
outputs were presented.
Before the closing program, agreement for the next INSET was tackled and Mrs.
Anamarie B. Bonza, the principal gave the closing message.
Certificates of participation were given to the participants during the closing program.

“PES PERSONNEL AND PARENTS CHRISTMAS SERENADE 2021”
II. Background
Pinagbobong Elementary School, Tabaco City has insufficient fund to augment for the
learning resources expenses specifically the modules that should be distributed to all learners. Teacher
needs to wait for his or her turn to use the available printer in school just to complete the needed
materials, while others go to the Printing shop to be able to meet the schedule of the distribution of
printed learning materials.
The school has only 3 printers utilized by 18 school personnel and with the ratio of 3:6. This
matter must be given solution to be able to address the learning resources shortage.
2021 Christmas Serenade is being planned to source out fund for the purchase of additional
printers and other necessities of the school. This activity will be participated by volunteer teachers and
parents and will be conducted for 4 nights from December 16 to 19, 2022
III. Project Objectives
1. To source out fund for the purchase of additional printers and other necessities for the
Learning materials.
2. To tap generous stakeholders for the fundraising activity
3. To strengthen camaraderie, awareness and responsibility among parents and teachers
based on DepEd Mission.
IV. Project Description/Project Design
The project will be accomplished through the help of GPTA Officers, faculty staff
and with the cooperation of Barangay Council.
