II. COURSE
DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to provide students diverse experiences of literature and help them gain more
awareness of the unique characteristics of each region in the Philippines through varied literary pieces,
both oral and written forms, passed from our forefather up to the present works of Filipino writers that
best represent each island of the country. This helps them understand and appreciate the events, culture,
traditions, values, and beliefs that shape the Filipino identity across time.

III. COURSE
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the semester, the learners will be able to:
•Identify literary texts according to its respective geographical areas, genre, types, elements, and historical
period
•Apply close reading of texts, involving analysis and interpretation of a variety of forms, types, and genres
•Deploy critical perspectives in the analysis and interpretation of texts, that is, of the ways in which texts
represent or misrepresent reality
•Produce

I. Midterm
A. Class Participation (70%)
a. Attendance (20%) – Discussion Fora (recitations and class sharing and online engagement)
b. Assessment (50%) – Submitting ALL the required assessment provided at the end of every pre- recorded
video lesson which will be posted in the Google Classroom.
B. Midterm Examination – (30%)
(Can be in form of written and oral online examination, a requirement term paper, a portfolio, a video, etc.)
II. Finals
A. Class Participation (70%)
