Project: - Demolition of Existing Ground+4 floor building Including


Foundations, Plot No 112-525, Area Al Ras, DUBAI, UAE.

Subject: - Method Statement for the above mentioned project.

Objective: -
To Demolish the Existing Ground+4 floor building and manual
separation and demolition of Substation Room Including Foundations
and remove the debris and dispose the debris to the approved Dubai
Municipality Dumping Yard.

Scope of work: -
 Demolition of Existing Ground+4 floor building and manual
separation and demolition of Substation Room including removal of
its foundations, Area Al Ras, Dubai, UAE.

 Taking Required Demolition permit & Related NOC from DM.

 Mobilize with manpower, equipment, consumables, and related


arrangement.
 Disposal of Debris to the Approved Dubai municipality
Dumping yard.
 General Clearance of the site.

Resources: -
Excavator with Bucket and Excavator with Breaker, Front End
loader shovel for Mechanical work and hand tools for manual work
by workers. Steel cutting gas equipment shall also be used for
cutting the steel.

Basic Personnel Protection Equipment to be used:


Safety Helmet, Safety boots, Hi-Visibility jackets, Eye Protection,
Hand protection Gloves, Dust masks, Ear Plugs. All PPE will be of
Standard Guidelines.

Hand Held Tools: -


Hand held Hammer, hand Held Shovel, cleaning brush, Basic Gas
Burner Cutting Equipment, & industrial gas Cylinders as per Dubai
Municipality Guidelines shall be used.

Machines: -
 Excavator equipped with Bucket & Jack Hammer. Brand
Caterpillar makes 330 or any equivalent machine.
 Front End loader shovel caterpillar make model - 966 or 950.
 36M 3 , 20M 3 Trucks for loading the debris.
All heavy machinery working on site will be daily checked,
maintained and refueled. Special attention shall be taken to air
filters while working in a dusty surrounding while demolition.
Precautions:
 All the workers on site shall be in proper PPE. Prior to the work
we shall make sure that the Etisalat, Electrical and water
services are terminated.

 Firefighting Extinguishers shall be placed near to the proposed


demolition area.

 Fire Warden shall be on site during the Manual demolition &


mechanical demolition as well as during the hot work on site.

 To Control Dust, we shall sprinkle the water while demolition


and loading the debris.

 While working on height Safety Harness shall be used by the


workers.

Sequence of work:
1. Protection of Substation Room.

a. We will separate the existing substation room manually using


jackhammer and compressor.

b. The manual separation of substation room for a distance of


1.5M from two sides for top four floors.

c. I- Section Beam and Flat sheet shall be used with concrete


foundation for protection of Substation room.

d. we will barricade the room by using steel I-Section girder with


flat sheet three sides of room with the help of welding.

e. We shall be demolishing manually the above three floors of


substation room.
2. Demolition of Ground+4 floor building.
 The Plot Consists of Ground+4 floor and at the corner DEWA live
substation room in which G+4 floor Building needs to be
demolished and substation room should be protected.

 We shall be protecting all around the building with scaffolding, Ply and
Green cloth.

 We shall be manually demolishing top two rooms on the corner of


Parking side and two rooms on the top of substation room plus parapet
wall by using labor, jackhammer and compressor.

 After manual demolition we will arrange Excavator 30 Ton with 18Mts


long boom with Breaker in order to proceed with mechanical demolition.

 Each group with one excavator mounted with bucket + one excavator
mounted with breaker + one-wheel loader shovel shall be preceded.

 The building blocks shall be demolished first with roof slab; then beams
and finally the columns shall be knocked down by using excavator.

 The big R.C.C. boulders shall be made to small transportable convenient


size pieces by using the excavator equipped with jack hammer.

Reinforcement Steel shall be separated from the debris and steel
shall be cut in smaller sizes for easy handling and comfortably
loading in pickups and trucks.

Debris: - Debris shall be loaded in 20m 3 Trucks and we shall be


using Front End Loader shovel for loading the trucks.
To Control dust water shall be sprinkled.
After completing the Super structure demolition, we shall start the
demolition of foundations. Foundations shall be demolished by
using excavator equipped with Rock Breaker & Bucket. Excavator
with Rock shall demolish the foundations and excavator with
bucket shall remove the debris and steel.
Reinforcement Steel shall be separated from the debris and steel
shall be cut in smaller sizes for easy handling and comfortably
loading in pickups and trucks.
Scrap Steel shall be loaded in pickup & sold to scrap dealers for
recycling Purpose.
After General Cleaning the site we shall be handing over the site to
the client.

Land Fill for Demolished Debris:


Presently Al Rasheed is dumping the debris in Dubai municipality
Land fill area in Umm Nahad area located on Dubai Al Ain road.

Demolition Waste handling and Transportation


Procedures:
Demolition Debris shall be loaded in trucks of 20M 3 & 36M 3 trucks
and shall follow the route from Al Ras to Al Ain Road Via Shaikh
Mohammed Bin Zayed Road to dispose the debris to Umm Nahad
Land Fill of D.M.
Demolition coming out steel scrap shall be sold to scrap dealers for
re cycling.
