Jakarta. The Foreign Affairs Ministry on Saturday raised its travel alert for Singapore to level
yellow, urging Indonesian citizens to take extra precautions when they visit the city-state. The
new warning was issued after Singapore's Ministry of Health on Friday upgraded its disease
outbreak response system condition, or Dorscon, to Orange, one level below top alert, as
the coronavirus outbreak continued to spread in the neighbouring country.
Indonesians who plan to visit or are already in Singapore have been told to keep themselves fit,
improve hygiene and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities.
In case of emergency, Indonesian citizens in Singapore can contact the Indonesian Embassy on
+65 67377422 or press the emergency button on the ministry's official Safe Travel application.
"The Drescon Orange alert means [the Singaporean government] deems the novel coronavirus a
dangerous one. It will take all measures to reduce risks of further infections," the ministry said.
An Indonesian migrant worker in Singapore was confirmed to have been infected by the
coronavirus last week.

Tamansari Water Castle: A Place for Princesses to Bathe and be ‘Hunted’ by the Sultan
With its combination of eastern and western style building, this unique escape of the royal
family has its own appeal and story. The most famous place in Tamansari is the bathing
and resting place of the Sultan and his Princesses named Umbul Pasiraman. Most tourists
find this place interesting as there is a unique story behind its origins.
The Sultan loves to go hunting during his free time and The Umbul Pasiraman was
designed to appease the Sultan of that desire. Different from the Panggung Krapyak which
was designed to hunt deer, the Umbul Pasiraman (which means a place to take a bath) was
designed for the Princesses to take a bath and for the Sultan to relax and ‘hunt’ for a wife.
To catch his ‘two-legged prey’, it is said that the Sultan would throw a rose from the high
tower on the south of the pool and the Princess who caught that rose will be his ‘wife’.
Usually, the ones who would catch the rose would either be the Queen or his concubines.
There are three different pools at Umbul Pasiraman namely Umbul Binangun, Umbul
Muncar and Blumbang Kuras each a different area for the daughters of Sultan and his
potential wives to bathe.
Other than the Umbul Pasiraman, visitors can also explore an underground tunnel and
mosque. The tunnel was once a hideout but now is not functional as it is partially used for
local residences. Unlike most mosques, the mosque on this premise is a unique circle
shaped building, with Sumur Gumilang beneath which was a place for the Sultan to pray.
Tamansari is only a few blocks from Kraton and can be reached by walking about 15
minutes from there. People can also use ‘becak’ to go to this place. For those who use
vehicle, you can go to Jl. Taman Sari through the Pasar Ngasem area and enter the East
Gate as it has bigger parking lot.
Tamansari is located near Pasar Ngasem where people could buy various local foods. A lot
of stores and stalls also sell souvenirs along the road

Last September, I went to Pari Island for a holiday. I went there with my family. That
was my first time to travel there. Our boat departed from Muara Angke port to the
island at 8.00 a.m. We arrived at Pari Island around 10.00 AM. After that, we went to
our guesthouse that we had booked before. Fortunately, our guesthouse was located
near to the port, so we did not have to walk so far. The first thing that we did after
that was rent bicycle. It only cost IDR 20.000 per day. Then we did cycling for a
while and had lunch before we decided to do snorkeling.
When we went snorkeling, the fisherman who became our guide brought us to the
beach far enough from our guesthouse. We did snorkeling there. The water was very
clear. We could see groups of tiny fishes and beautiful coral under the sea. After we
did snorkeling for approximately three hours, we returned to our guest house. We
ended up the first day by getting dinner and took some walks around.
On the second day, we woke up so early to watch sunrise. We did not need to go far
to watch the sunrise because our guest house was so near to the beach and we could
watch the sunrise there. Sunrise on the beach, what a beautiful view!
After we spent long enough time to watch the sunrise, we decided to get breakfast.
There was a festival at that time. We went to the festival and had breakfast there. We
ate some delicious seafood. We felt time went so fast that day. We needed to return
to our guest house because our boat that would bring us home would depart at 10.00
AM.
My first trip to Pari Island was so enjoyable. I would like to visit this place again
together with my family in another chance.
