Aims

 to give students practice in speaking and listening comprehension skills;


 to introduce new vocabulary related to inventions (CD player, mobile
phone, camera, laptop, microwave oven, hairdryer, answering machine,
facebook, vacuum cleaner, printer);
 to give students practice in expressing personal opinions on a given topic-
developing speaking skills;
 to make students feel more positive about using English in
conversations;
 to encourage students to use English accurately;

Language functions:

 Talking about inventions that make our lives easier and more comfortable.
 Asking / answering questions (What do you consider to be one of the most
useful inventions? Do you know who invented it? Do you think people can live
without this invention? Why/Why not?)
Assumed Knowledge: Students are familiar with:

 Oral commands like: Please, identify these objects. Open your books, please.
Match the words. Write down. Listen and match the dialogues.
