Flood Bulletin C

The Pakistan Meteorological Department issued a weekly weather outlook for river catchments from August 27th to September 2nd. Rainfall activity is expected to subside over the upper catchments of major rivers. Very high to exceptionally high flooding is forecast for the Kabul River and its tributaries over the next 48 hours. Severe flash flooding may continue in Balochistan rivers and nullahs over the next 24 hours. No high flooding is expected in the Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej rivers. This forecast will be updated daily.

SUBJECT: -WEEKLY SIGNIFICANT WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR RIVERS


CATCHMENTS (27th August, 2022 to 02nd September, 2022)

➢ RAINFALL OUTLOOK:

Rainfall activity is likely to subside significantly over the upper catchments

of all the Major Rivers.

➢ FLOOD SITUATION IN MAJOR RIVERS:

• Very High to exceptionally High-level flooding is expected in River Kabul at

Nowshera and Tributaries of Rivers Kabul & Indus during next 48-hours. Severe Flash

Flooding is likely to continue in Rivers/Nullahs of Balochistan during next 24-hours.

• No High Flood situation is expected in Rivers Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi & Sutlej.

Note: This forecast is updated on daily basis.
