Part 1 : Instructions to Auditor
i. Before starting the assessment, the auditor, need to interview the candidate, and the assessment only could be started, if candidate gives satisfactory explanation of his driving experiences, and equipments
familiarization.
i. In-Cab driving assessment is where the candidate shall be evaluated based on his routine / standard / normal practices of driving. An interview shall be conducted whilst driving to understand his
understanding on the available hazards, road signs, or any related company policies , and safe driving practices.
ii. The assessment shall be terminated if there is any safety breachs (accidents or any unsafe acts) or any signs of health problems that might lead to lost focus while driving.
iii. Please use discrection in timing of asking the questions / assessments elements and recording the findings especially when candidate really needs to focus when performing specific task during drivings.
iv. The assessment is direct interview session. Do not provide any assistance by explaining the answers.
v. In the event the assessment needed to be terminated, the truck needed to be parked, and shall be returned back to company's truck yard / depot.
vi. The auditor needs to explain the purpose of the assessments to the candidate, and at the end of assessments, the summary / scores shall be shared to candidates. He then, need to sign the checklist as
aknowledgement evidence.
vii. Should the assesment needed to be repeated due to inadequate evidences, do not share the first assessment summary until the second assessment completed with adequate / satisfactory evidences.
viii. Please observe candidate practices regards to his inspections and driving practices, before and while driving. Please do not comments or give any explanation during the assessments in which shall lead to
unreliable assessment results.
x. All assessment results shall be shared to his superior / managements and translated into adequate action items. The candidate is subject to be reassessed once all related trainings / briefing completed and/or
if the needs arise by any circumstances.
Part 2 : Oral questions / Interview.

1.0 Visual Check (Before entering vehicle)

vii. Observe vehicle panel to check any signs of abnornalities.

3.0 Driving
i. Safely enters traffic flow by frequent observation on side mirrors.
ii. Appropiate usage of signals
iii. Steer with both hands on the wheel unless to change transmision. 3-9

iv. Manage the accelerator smoothly and brake efficiently and maintain
allowable speed limits / safe speeds.
v. Stop accurately at an instructed point.
vi Steer accurate course whilst driving around or through corners.
vii. Change gear smoothly and Use suitable gear to suit road speed and
driving conditions.
viii. frequent checking on side mirror whilst driving (~5 to 8 secs)
x. Stop in traffic one car length behind of front vehicle
xi. Maintains ~4 second following times (1001, 1002, 1003, 1004 method).
xii. Check LRL or RLR before entering intersections and continues until
cleared.

xiii. Continously focus on driving without any distractions (using mobile
phone, radio set, eat or drink, smoking, etc).
xiii. Interview whilst driving:
- means of any hazard signs / road signs

xv. Anticipate the actions of other vehicles, or pedestrians and respond
safely.
xvi. Displays a courteous attitude toward other drivers while driving.
xvii. Not Anticipate to any potential road crashs.
xviii. Satifastory safe practices and correct technics (e.g. usage of exhaust
brake, etc ) towards driving at downhill , uphill, overtaking other vehicle,
and/ or overtook by other vehicles.
4.0 Parking
i. Parking practices :
- Reverse parallel park - 3 moves.
- Forward parallel park - 1 move.
ii. Frequent observe side mirror while parking.
iii. Ensure transmission in neutral condition before switch off engine.
iv. Apply hand brake.
