PASADO SIMPLE: FORMA AFIRMATIVA,

NEGATIVA E INTERROGATIVA

ENGLISH
The simple past is the verb tense
used in the English language to
narrate events that occurred at a
specific time in the past. The past
simple is very easy to use,
understand and learn.

SPANISH
El pasado simplees el tiempo verbal
que se usa en el idioma inglés para
narrar hechos que ocurrieron en un
momento específico del pasado. El
pasado simple es muy fácil de usar,
entender y aprender.
ENGLISH IMPORTANT:

The time period of these actions is not important as in

Spanish. In the past simple there are regular verbs and

irregular verbs.

SPANISH

IMPORTANTE:

El período de tiempo de estas acciones no es importante

como en el español. En el pasado simple hay verbos

regulares y verbos irregulares.

To form the past simple with regular

verbs, we use the infinitive and add the
ending “-ed”. The form is the same for
all people (I, you, he, she, it, we, they).

Para formar el pasado simple con verbos regulares, usamos

el infinitivo y agregamos la terminación “-ed”. La forma es la
misma para todas las personas (yo, tú, él, ella, eso, nosotros,
ellos).
Want - Wanted, Learn - Learned, Stay - Stayed, Walk -
Walked, Show - Showed.

1.FOR VERBS THAT END IN AN "E", WE JUST ADD "-D":

EXAMPLES;
Change - Changed
Believe - Believed
2. IF THE VERB ENDS IN A SHORT VOWEL AND A
CONSONANT (EXCEPT “Y” OR “W”), WE DOUBLE THE
FINAL CONSONANT:
EXAMPLES;
Stop - Stopped
Commit - Committed
3. WITH VERBS THAT END IN A CONSONANT AND A “Y”,
THE “Y” IS CHANGED TO AN “I”:
EXAMPLES;
Study - Studied
Try - Tried
4.MOST USED IRREGULAR VERBS:
Be; Was: (I, he, she, it)
Were: (you, we, they)
