INTRODUCTION
The industry internship program is an opportunity given by the university to the 7th semester
engineering students to do an internship program in the reputed industries. Internship training
is the process of on-job training, which is beneficial for students with major in technical
courses. Before turning to professional employees in the industries, itis an great opportunity
given to the students of our college to experience the industry environment, the business, the
discipline of how the actual industry works and gain the practical knowledge by working in the
live business. Internship training helps the students to link-up their academic experience with
industry practices.

Industrial Training Objectives:

The Internship program here majorly focuses on the industry training. The objective of the
Industry Training course is to provide basic pre- requirements for a pre professional to work
in industrial environment. Some of the objectives are listed below.

• Assist the student's development of employer-valued skills such as teamwork,

communications and attention to detail.
• Expose the student to the industrial environment and expectations of performance
required in the industry.
• Enhance the student's knowledge on particular areas.
• Expose the student to professional Industry experts or mentors who will provide the
student with support in the early stages of the internship and provide an example of
the behaviors expected in the intern's workplace.
• Gain valuable work experience. Gain basic knowledge of manufacturing processes,
engineering drawing reading .

• Final Test and installation

4)PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT
Production management refers to the process of managing the activities of a business to furnish
desired outputs of products and services. It involves planning, executing, and directing
operations to convert raw materials into finished goods and services. Therefore, we can say
that product management is concerned with (a) procuring resources in the form of management
inputs, raw materials, labor, capital, equipment, and so on in (b) order to develop or produce
finished products. The entire process between these two checkpoints is what we essentially
refer to as production management. The supervision and execution of the process that
transforms materials into products is called ‘production management.’

Functions of production management

Production management attempts to utilize 6M’s: Men, Machines, Money, Methods, Materials,
and Market in order to better serve consumer needs. Its fundamental goal is to produce products
and services in the right quantity, quality, on a schedule, and for optimum money. Production
management makes it simple to adopt various technologies and innovative changes in the
workplace. Production management is in charge of supervising and controlling all employees
involved in the company’s production processes in order to ensure that the target output is
achieved.

Production planning and control

Choosing the correct production processes for a particular product also becomes
important. Decisions must be taken in order to choose the correct type of machines and
technology, the capital investment required, and so on. It entails planning prior to production.
Decisions like the quantity of production, the flow of processes, and so on are all planned out.
Routing is the term used for charting out the sequence of operations for a smooth workflow.

Selection of product and design

Production management helps the organization select the right product for production and also
choose a relevant design for the product. This becomes imperative for the survival of
organizations to possess a good understanding of their consumers in order to create products
that fully satisfy needs. Products need to go through a detailed evaluation in order to meet
customer needs while also remaining cost-efficient.
5) MOULD MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT

a) All mould tools are expensive and easily prone to damage and corrosion if they are
not maintained properly.
b) In most injection moulding shops, the mould storage area often houses a
considerable capital investment, often running into Lakhs of rupees.
c) Before a mould is stored it should be checked for any repairs that are necessary
and these should be carried out before the next time the mould is used.
d) A few simple precautions will make sure the mould is in good order for the next
time it is required.
e) Predictive Maintenance is carried out monthly so that future failure is avoided.
f) A basic checklist is as follows:
• The mould should be cleaned and serviced.
• Waterways should be blown out with air.
• The mould should be lubricated.
• Vents should be cleaned.
• All moulding surfaces should be sprayed with a mould protective

All safety switches should be checked for damage and correct function

RAW MATERIALS
➢ ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene)
➢ POM (Polyoxymethylene)
➢ PP (Polypropylene)
➢ TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber)
➢ HDPE (High Density Polyethylene)

1.ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) : Having higher Melting point, high strength ,it
supports the use of colorants, Very sturdy and hard , suitable for machine or car parts, Longer
lifespan.

2.POM (Polyoxymethylene) : It is safe and approved by FDA(Food and drug administration)

& USDA (United states dept of agriculture),having excellent rigidity ,impact toughness,
abrasion resistance, creep resistance, solvent resistance.

3.PP (Polypropylene) : High thermal expansion coefficient which limits its high temperature
applications, Polypropylene chemical properties mean it does not react with acids which makes
it ideal material for containers made to hold acidic liquids such as clean agents.

4.TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber) : High flexural fatigue resistance, good tear and abrasion
resistance, good dielectric properties, outstanding resistance to weathering and chemicals high
impact strength, elasticity similar to cross-linked rubber materials.

5.HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) : Cost effective, can withstand temperature from 148 to
176 degrees Fahrenheit, non leaching, UV resistance, resistance to most chemical solvents,
stiff materials
INJECTION MOULDING
BASIC FIGURE

a) Plastic injection moulding is the process of making a wide range of products using
pellet or granular plastic resins.
b) The resins are used to manufacture products such as airplane and automotive
components, hair combs, music instruments, toys, storage containers and thousands
of other products.
c) Stages -
1. Clamping 3. Cooling
2. Injection 4. Ejection
CONCLUSION

This internship has been a great experience. We met managers and Heads of AEQUS, and very
easily and conveniently interacted with them. This will definitely help me with opportunities
in future after completing the internship has given us knowledge about production. We learnt
about the working of industry. All worker and executives were very helpful and co-operative
with us. We are proud be interns at one of the leading industries in India
