The document provides information on calculating wind loads for a pre-engineered building with dimensions of 20m width, 70m length, and 8m height located in Hyderabad, India. It outlines calculating the basic wind speed of 44m/sec, design wind speed of 40.04m/sec, and wind pressure of 0.962 kN/m^2. It also includes notes on factors to calculate design wind pressure and details on the building dimensions, openings, surface area, and internal pressure coefficient.

Wind Load Calculation
The document provides information on calculating wind loads for a pre-engineered building with dimensions of 20m width, 70m length, and 8m height located in Hyderabad, India. It outlines calculating the basic wind speed of 44m/sec, design wind speed of 40.04m/sec, and wind pressure of 0.962 kN/m^2. It also includes notes on factors to calculate design wind pressure and details on the building dimensions, openings, surface area, and internal pressure coefficient.
Pz = 0.60 Vz2 = 0.60 x 40.042 = 0.962 kN/M2 Pd = The design wind pressure can obtained as Pd = Kd Ka Kc Pz
Note : The value of Pd shall not be taken as less than 0.70Pz
Width = 20M , Length = 70M , Height = 8M Door : 4 x 3 - 2Nos. Window: 1.20 x 1.5 - 6Nos. Building surface area : 2H ( L + W) = 2 x 8 ( 70 + 20 ) = 1440M2 Triangle portion of end wall : ½ x h x w/2 x 4 = ½ x 1 x 10 x 4 = 20M2 Total surface area = 1440 + 20 = 1460M2 Opening area = 4 x 3 x 2 + 1.20 x 1.50 x 6 = 34.80M2 Percentage of opening = (34.8 / 1460) x 100 = 2.38 % Hence internal pressure coefficient = +/- 0.20
