your work, as both an ongoing activity and at
the conclusion of the project.

You should describe how you intend to

record your decision-making and how you
will document changes to your ideas as the

should reference your stated aims and
be reflective and analytical rather than a
description of actions completed.

When working in collaboration with others,

either positively or adversely and outline the
steps you can take to minimise disruption to

Project action plan and timetable:

to outline your planning and organisation

realisation of the project. You should also
include what you are going to do, how you
will do it and by when. Remember to include:
time spent sourcing materials and other
resources to conduct research, feedback from
tutors and peers, and when you will carry out
independent study.

Bibliography (Harvard Format):

This section provides an opportunity to record

the initial research sources, both primary and

Your sources of research should be as wide

as possible and could include libraries,
galleries, books, magazines, films, computer

programmes, archive material etc. Where
appropriate, you should use the Harvard
system of referencing. The bibliography should
be continuously updated as the
project progresses.

Project Title
Personal Project/Magazine design

Section 1: Rationale
(approx. 100 words)
Our brief for this project is asking us to create a professional piece of work
based of the theme of Text and Image, this should target a certain audience
of our choice, this could be a series of posters, creating your own brand,
designing a magazine and many more.
I feel confident about executing this project as I have never designed a
magazine before which means it will be teaching me something new
throughout designing.
To pursue this project successfully I need to have knowledge and skills in my
research and planning beforehand as this is very important. I also need to
have knowledge and skills in the practical side which will need to be learnt
through my research for this project.
This project will give me learning opportunities to learn new skills at a
professional level like a magazine which will be quite hard to complete.

Section 2: Project
Concept
My overall idea for this project is to create a magazine about celebrities and
(approx. 200 words) how they have inspired the young community to dress similar or have similar
music. By creating this magazine, I also want to raise awareness about young
people having mental health issues and how these celebrities have a big
impact on how they act and how they dress.
My target audience for this project is young people aged between 13 – 25,
and parents that want to know more about their kids influencers they are
watching.
My main piece of research that is going to help develop my project further is
primary research such as google forms, focus groups and looking in books
due to the new information I need to complete the task.
The practical work that I will be producing throughout this project is
developments as I go along to help me create new ideas and better
outcomes.
To carry this project out I will need to learn skills in Adobe In design as I will
be mainly using this program to produce all my layouts for my pages in the
magazine. To carry out this project I will also need to use Adobe Photoshop
to edit my photos and make them look professional to be placed into a
magazine.

Unit 8 Project Proposal
Section 3: Evaluation
(approx. 50 words)
Throughout my project I will be reflecting on the work that I have previously
done by planning out what I am going to do each week, I am also going to
reflect on my work by taking part in focus groups and peer discussions.
As I continue throughout my project, I am also going to reflect on my project
by using my research annotations that I have previously wrote, this will help
me to analyze my progress as I document my decision making by using mind
maps.
