1.  Why did Don Francisco choose Maestro Cruz’s school in Biñan than the existing Parochial School in
Calamba? (10 points)

It was to further and improved the studies of Jose Rizal which is an intelligent child and also to avoid
getting involved in his mother problem who is accused of poisoning her sister in law.

2.  What kind of education Jose Rizal experienced in Biñan?(10 points)

It was a typical schooling that a son of an ilustrado family received during his time, characterized by the
four R's- reading, writing, arithmetic, and religion. Instruction was rigid and strict.

3.  Explain the two injustices that shaped Jose Rizal’s nationalism. (20 points)

        

     a. Imprisonment of his mother Doña Teodora.

     Fair injustice. It was in 1871 when Dona Teodora Alberto de Alonzo (Rizal's mother) was accused to
attempted murder when she was allegedly tried to kill her sister-in-law in poison. 

     b. Execution of GOMBURZA

It was against this charged environment that GOMBURZA were accused and found guilty of allegedly
orchestrating the Cavite Mutiny of 1872, and charged with treason and sedition by Spanish authorities.
This awake awake the soul of Jose Rizal, he felt a sense of an intolerable wrong, that the rest of his life
seemned lonely, a feeling grew upon hirm that the misfortunes of his people were to be the business of
his life.

4.  How these injustices shaped his value on nationalism? (20 points)

     a. Imprisonment of his mother Doña Teodora.

The imprisonment of Doña Teodoro awake the soul of Jose Rizal. He learned the Fair injustice of Spanish
that burned the feelings of him that he need to protect his family and beloved people of his country.

     b. Execution of GOMBURZA

The execution of GOMBURZA make more influence the feeling of Jose Rizal that he need to stand for the
people of his country as he learned the injustice and abusive power of Spanish.
