Student Name: Anshi Prem

1. Identify two desirable personal traits in a healthcare team member. Give an example of how
these traits can benefit your team in a healthcare setting.
1) Having empathy and acceptance of cultural diversity.
2) Showing responsibility and dependability.
Having such traits as the first one may be easier for the members to get along with one
another despite the different opinions and mindset that come with the cultural diversity.

2. Identify two examples of good work habits in a healthcare team member. Give an example of
how these work habits can benefit your team in a healthcare setting.
1) Avoid phrases that could create doubt such as “um,” “you know,” and “uh huh.” Use proper
body language to help portray your message.
2) Sit or stand at eye level and do not cross your arms or look at distractions while someone is
trying to talk with you.
3. Describe two ways to recognize appropriate professional behavior in a healthcare team
member. Give an example of how these professional behaviors can benefit your team.
1) Responsibility- shows that you are dedicated and committed to your role and job duties.
2) Maintaining a level of calmness and patience while working with others.
These behaviors can benefit your team as they can develop trust in you to hold you
responsible for any emergencies or trust you with a task.

4. Identify two communication barriers that may occur in healthcare. Give an example of how you
would work around each barrier to provide excellent care to your patient.
1) Your patient may exaggerate their situation and demand the unreasonable- you maintain
calm and patient. With good body language and speech skills, you calm them down and
explain what needs to be cleared for them and make them feel in a safe environment.
2) Your patient may be a bit private person and may not want to share what you ask off- make
them feel safe and acquire their trust through good communication skills. And then slowly
ask them the required questions.

5. When speaking to a patient or fellow healthcare worker, what are two important ways to ensure
they have your undivided attention. Give an example of how you would use each of these
methods to provide excellent care to your patient.
1) Always make eye contact while talking to them. Ex: I would make direct eye contact with the
doctor I’m talking to, to make sure they have my complete attention.
2) Do not fold hands or sit or stand in a bad posture. Ex: when talking with my patient I sit in a
good posture and make sure my hands or not in a distracting pose. It will help me gain
creditability and make my patients trust in me more.
3) Always listen carefully and make sure you answer them properly with a respectful tone. Ex:
When I’m talking to a senior staff, I respond with a respectful tone to make sure they
deserve the respect they have earned as a senior to me. And to make me be in good terms
with them
