ALLEADER IN HIGH PRESSURE HYDRAULICS Incorporated in 1977, Dynew/Rivett can trace its history to 1884. When hydraulics became a major industry in the 1940's, the company offered a full line of hydraulic products. High pressure checkball pumps rated for 15.000 psi (1040 bar) were developed in the 1960's. Pumps are now available rated from 6000 to 20000 ps! (420 to 1380 bar). Models are available for use with multi-viscosity special fluids, including water glycol ‘Skydrol, other phosphate ester fluids, various aerospace fluids and lube fluids. HIGH PRESSURE VALVES RATED TO 15000 PSI (1040 BAR) Dynex HP pattem valves, witha simple siding-spool design, operate at prossures to 10000 psi (700 bar). VST Series seated valves provide reliable shiting with a non-siting bal-on-seat design. These positive sealing valves are rated to 15000 psi (1040 bar) ‘Subplate mounted valves that mount on standard NEPA. (CETOP) patterns are rated to 5000 psi (350 bar). Air, hydraulic or lever actuators are also available. Flow pattern in the center position or during crossover is determined by the spool selected. FLOW ACTUATING PATTERN Operating actuator "A" opens flow path to port *A* (P-+A). Operating actuator “B" opens flow path to port “B" (P-+B). Models with Code 6 operators, which are actuator centered, are the exception. Spring-centered or spring-offset ‘models are spring positioned unless actuated continuously. Code 3 operators (two position detented) hold the spool in the last actuated position. These valves can be actuated momentarily (minimum electrical signal duration, 50 ms) to shift and hold the spool in that position. ‘APPLICATION NOTES Mounting Position Unrestricted forall models. Silting may Cause spool sticking and improper shifting. Valves should also be cycled Periodically to prevent this problem, Pressure Surges Consistent with standard practice, the system should be protected from pressure surges which can affect the shitting of any spool valve. In systems with multiple vaives, a separate line to tank, or to another low pressure line, is recommended. This is especially critical with detented models. 7 (Code 6 epertrs no avaiable with manual ever cpeated modes (Coae 7 epartors ony eval for manual lve operated 003, HPOS and 005 mode Drain and Pilot Connections On pilot operated models, valves are supplied with external drain and internal pilot as standard, Internal drain and external pilot are optional. See “Typical Mode! Code” inthe appropriate section for each valve model. Also refer to the installation drawings, which indicate plug locations for various drain and pilot configurations. External drain is recommended for applications with high tank pressure, to assure proper spool shitting, Solenoid and Electrical Options ‘SOLENOID ADVANTAGES Solenoid models are quiet and moisture resistant for long life. Wet atmature design eliminates dynamic seals and increases the available shifting forces. Static o-rings prevent ‘external leakage. MANUAL SOLENOID OVERRIDE Solenoid override pins are made of corrosion-resistant brass for trouble {ree operation. The "M" option, shown at right, provides convenient hand-actuated override, without the use of tools. Refer to “Typical Model Code" on the appropriate page for each specific model. STANDARD WIRE LEADS Standard models include UL listed and CSA approved wire leads. The valves feature large, lightweight wiring boxes, providing a rigid, strong enclosure for electrical connections, Note that actuators are identified as “A" or *B" on the nameplate. Valve function symbols are also shown for ‘most common models. The nameplate retainer helps during installation, keeping the proper nameplate with each valve when ‘wiring multiple valves. f saoneenneney sour maec05 0) ROR AEST nsx — Shane season ‘TERMINAL STRIP Connecting wire leads is easier with this convenient feature. Four sets of ‘common terminal screws let you cut leads to desired length and make simple connections. ‘Access to the terminals is improved by mounting posts which raise the sttip tothe top of the box. To specity terminal strip, include “T” in model code. Aiso available, with mounting posts and screws, in kit Kvo03010%0. CONNECTORS (3- OR 5-PIN) Simplify your connections and prevent wiring mistakes with quick- ‘connect pin receptacles (NFPA. standard T9.5.29-1980; A.N.S. standard B9S,55M-1981) Valves with these UL recognized and CSA certified connectors can be serviced without disturbing wiring. Internal valve wiring is complete, with leads connected to a terminal strip in wiring box. All wires have UL and CSA approved solder-less terminals. Wiring diagrams show the standard connections for 3-pin and 5-pin connectors. The commercially available mating “female” connector {snot included. For installation convenience, valves are available with connector on either end of valve. To specity connectors refer to “Typical Mode! ode" on the appropriate page for ‘each specitic model. The connectors are also avaliable in kit KVO0301012 (Gin) or KVO0301013 (5-pin, ce - wou SE = CABLE GRIP AND LIGHTS Prevent accidental electric discon: ection during operation, with this ‘optional grip for .98 to .44 inch (9,5 to 11,1 mm) O.D. machine tool cable. Cable grip is mounted in electric entry, on port *B” end of valve. Simplify troubleshooting in your systems with bright, neon signal lights. The long-life lights give you a quick visual check for proper solenoid operation. Available in A.C. models only. To specify cable grip, include “CG” ‘model code. For lights, include *St Also available separately as part number 17650960 (grip) or kit KV00301011 (lights). PLUG-IN TERMINAL SOLENOIDS Integral solenoid plugs simplity electrical connections during installation and servicing. Three terminal, bi-polar plugs fit DIN Connector Standard 43650 (Hirsch- mann GDM 209). Installation is easier because valves can be mounted without removal of nameplate. Openings in nameplate provide access to mounting holes in valve bodies. Commercially available mating plug is not included. wT wees ao 10 Compact Valves Control Flow to 15 U.S. gpm (57 L/min) High performance D03 valves are rated for 8 U.S. gpm (30 L/min) nominal and 15 U.S. gpm (57 Limin) maximum flow, at pressures to ‘5000 psi (350 bar), This high pressure and high flow capability provides great efficiency in a very compact size. HIGH EFFICIENCY OPERATION Large internal flow passages, with uniform flow areas throughout the body coring, provide exceptional ‘efficiency. Typical loop pressure drop (open center spool) is a low 98 psi at 8 US. gpm (7 bar at 30 L/min) nominal flow (AP loop = P-»A + BT). ‘SMOOTH, RELIABLE SHIFTING A four-land spool design assures exceptionally smooth spool travel. Additional outboard lands provide greater support, eliminating spool imbalance. Balancing grooves provide precise centering, reducing silt buildup and potential spool sticking, Close tolerances assure accurate land sequencing and low leakage. Spools are interchangeable to meet changing requirements. LOW POWER REQUIREMENTS On solenoid models, efficient low power requirements reduce energy consumption. Holding power requirements are only 20 Watts for 115 Volt A.C. or 28 Watts, for 12 or 24 Volt D.C. solenoids. 16800 Series ydraue Pioted HIGH PRESSURE TANK PORT High pressure tank port capability provides the highest “T” port rating available. This option (‘HPT’) is ideal for higher pressure “series” circuits, HIGH PRESSURE SOLENOID TUBES. High pressure solenoid tubes (HPT option) ‘make the 003 ideal for use in higher pressure “series” crcults. " 900 Series ‘Air Ploted RELIABLE VALVE SEALING ‘Tapered o-ring counterbores reduce leakage, by assuring seal retention in high flow or rapid cycling operation. High-torque mounting prevents weepage between sections when using sandwich accessory valves. Potential leakage Is reduced by tapered o-ring counterbores which assure seal ‘tention in high tow applications ‘SPECIFICATIONS General For a description of spools and ‘operator functions, see pages 6-7. Large internal flow paths, with tank return pressure boost, increase available shifting forces for depen- able high flow operation. DETERMINING PRESSURE DROP ‘The curves show resistance to flow for various spool types. The table identifies the proper pressure drop ‘curve for each spool and flow path, AN EXAMPLE In the table under spool Type 1, curve "C" is called out to determine the pressure drop for PA. Looking at the curves, "C” indicates a drop of about 55 psi at 8 U.S. gpm (3,8 bar ‘at 30 L/min) To determine total “loop” drop, the Individual pressure drops for P—>A and BT (or P-+B and AT) must be added. For example, curve “F” is used for the return flow 8-»T for spool Type 1 Curve “F” indicates a pressure drop of 35 psi at 8 U.S. gpm (2,4 bar at 30 L/min). Adding the individual pressure drops results in a “loop” drop through the valve in both directions of 55 + 35 = 90 psi (3,8 + 2,4 = 6.2 bar).
