A. Question Paper Format


The question paper consists of three parts (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). Each part consists of two sections.
1. Section 1 contains 6 Integer Answer Type Questions ranging from 0 – 9.
2. Section 2: contains 6 multiple choice questions. Each question has four choices (A), (B), (C) and (D) out of which One
Or More Than One are correct.
3. Section 3 contains 6 Numerical answer type questions with answer XXXXX.XX and each question carries +4 marks
for correct answer. There is no negative marking
B. Marking Scheme
4. For each questions in Section 1 and 3 : you will be awarded +4 marks for correct answer and no negative marking.
5. For each question Section 2: marks will be awarded in one of the following categories:
Full Marks : + 4 If only the bubble(s) corresponding to all the correct option(s) is(are) darkened.
Partial Marks : + 1 For darkening a bubble corresponding to each correct option, provided NO
incorrect option is darkened.
Zero Marks : 0 If none of the bubbles is darkened.
Negative Marks : – 2 In all other cases.
For example, if [A], [C] and [D] are all the correct options for a question, darkening all these three will get +4 marks;
darkening only [A] and [D] will get +2 marks; and darkening [A] and [B] will get -2 marks, as a wrong option is also
darkened.

PART I: PHYSICS
SECTION – 1: (Only Integer Value Correct Type)
This section contains 6 questions. Each question, when worked out will result in one integer
from 0 to 9 (both inclusive).

1. Two balls are dropped from the same point after an interval of 1 s. If acceleration due to gravity is

2. A 40 kg slab rests on a frictionless floor. A 10 kg block rests on top of the slab as shown in the
figure. The coefficient of static friction between the block and slab is 0.60 and coefficient of kinetic
friction is 0.40. The 10 kg block is acted upon by a horizontal force of 100 N. The resulting

5. An observer having a gun observes a remotely controlled balloon.


When he first notices the balloon, it was at an altitude of
800m and moving vertically upward at a constant velocity of
5m/s . The horizontal displacement of balloon from the observer
is 1600m. Shells fired from the gun have an initial velocity of
400m/s at a fixed angle θ.(sin θ = 3/5 and  cos θ 4/5). The
observer having gun waits (for some time after observing balloon)
