The document provides instructions for calculating body mass index (BMI), target heart rate range, and setting up a monitoring log to track health metrics before and after exercise. It includes formulas for determining BMI based on weight and height, calculating maximum heart rate and target heart rate range using resting heart rate, and setting up a table to record baseline measurements and post-exercise results over multiple dates.

Activity 2

Name: _Japhet C Celestial__________________ Course & Year:_____BIT 1-10A_____

Date:_________________________________ Score:__________________________

Instruction:

Compute your BMI:

Here is the formula in getting your Body Mass Index (BMI).

BMI Formula = WEIGHT [in Kilograms] Example: Weight 30kg = 20.83

HEIGHT [in Meters]2 Height (1.2 m)2 1.44

BMI = 20.83

Body classification: Normal

Body Classification is determined based on BMI result.

BELOW 18.5 Underweight

18.5 – 24.9 Normal

25.0 – 29.9 Overweight

30.0 – ABOVE Obese

Compute your BMI to get your body classification based on the scale above.

Weight ____73___kg

Height (___1.71___ m)2 = ____2.92______

My BMI ___25______ Body Classification: ____Overweight__________________

Activity 3

Date: _________________________________ Score: __________________________

Instruction: Follow the instruction given below in computing your DATA

Target Heart Rate (THR) Worksheet

Here is how to calculate your target heart rate (THR) range…

First, you need the following data:

Resting Heart Rate (RHR)- (count pulse at rest for 1 minute)

Locate your pulse and count your heart beats.

My RHR = ______96__________

Maximum Heart Rate (MHR) - (220 – your age = MHR)

My MHR = ________96 - 19 = 77__________

For example, if you are 17 years old, your MHR is 203 beats per minute, or 220–
17=203.

Enter the above data in the following two formulas and solve. The formulas represent
the lower (60%) and upper (85%) limits of your target heart rate range.

(60%)— __77__ - __96__ = _-19__ x .60 = __-11.4____ + ___96__ = ___84.6___

MHR RHR RHR LOWER LIMIT

(80)— __77___ - _96___ = __-19__ x .85 = __-16.15__ + __96__ = ___79.85___

MHR RHR RHR UPPER LIMIT

Enter your target heart rate:

My target heart rate is: _____84.6_____ to __79.85_________
