You are on page 1/ 2

It is my great honor to speak to you today on the occasion of World Health Day.

This day is
celebrated every year on April 7th to raise awareness about the importance of health and
well-being for all people around the world. As the famous quote by Mahatma Gandhi goes,
"It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver."

Before reviewing the world health day, I would like to show you a short video to lighten up
the theme of this year of world health day and its 75th anniversary.

Video….

The theme for World Health Day 2023 is "Health for All", which is a call to action to ensure
that everyone, everywhere has access to quality healthcare without facing financial hardship.
As we all know The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of health as a
human right, and has also exposed the inequalities in healthcare access that exist around the
world.

Did you know that over half a million women die every year due to complications during
pregnancy and childbirth? And the majority of these deaths occur in developing countries,
where access to quality healthcare is limited. This is where the World Health
Organization comes in."

As a part of our world health day celebration, we held two competitions. First was drawing
competition and the second was solan competition.

Drawing competition was conducted in dr dy patil public school pimpri pune for 8 th and
9th standard students and the theme was “physical activity and healthy diet”. I would
like show you some pictures on yesterday’s event.

These are the some pictures.

Slogan competition was held in our college and these are some pictures of slogan
competition.

Today, as we observe 75th anniversary of WHO, so its celebration should also be in a healthy
way and for this our college hosted a walkathon.

After all slides

According to the World Health Organization, at least half of the world's population does not
have access to essential health services. This means that millions of people are unable to
receive the care they need to maintain good health, prevent illness, or manage chronic
conditions. We must work together to change this.

As nursing students, we have an important role to play in achieving health for all in India. We
are the frontline healthcare workers who will be providing care to patients in hospitals,
clinics, and communities. We must strive to provide compassionate and high-quality care to
all patients, regardless of their socio-economic background.

I would like to end with a quote from the former Director-General of the World Health
Organization, Dr. Gro Harlem Brundtland: "Health is a human right, not a privilege for those
who can afford it." Let us all work together towards achieving health for all in India and
around the world.
