Exposé D'anglais

Science can be defined as a systematic enterprise aimed at building and organizing knowledge through explanation and testable predictions. It has advanced greatly since ancient civilizations first engaged in scientific activities. Key developments include the birth of modern science in the 17th century, and major advances in fields like medicine, biotechnology, agriculture, industry, and internet technology. While science has brought many benefits to communication, health, food production and more, it also contributes to issues like pollution, climate change, and conflicts over its applications.

INTRODUCTION

Science (from the latin Scientia, « knowledge »), is in its first

sense ‘’the sum of knowledge’’ and more specifically a
systematic enterprise of construction and organization of
knowledge in the form of explanation and testable predictions.
Following the technique at the level of its history, it develops
in the west through work of a universal nature based on facts,
argumentation and methods which vary according to whether
they are observation, experience, hypothesis, a logic of
deduction or induction, etc. . . . when we divide science into
different fields, or disciplines, we then speak of sciences in the
plural, as in the opposition between hard sciences and human
and social sciences or that between formal sciences, natural
sciences and social sciences.
The purpose of science is to understand and explain the world
and its phenomena on the basic of knowledge, with the aim of
drawing conclusions from it. Forecast and functional
application. It wants to be open to criticism both in terms of
the knowledge acquired, the methods used to acquire it and the
arguments used during scientific or participatory research. As
part of this exercise of perpetual questioning, it is the subject
of a specific philosophical discipline called epistemology. The
knowledge established by science is the basis of many
technical developments whose impact on society and its
history are sometimes considerable

I. DEFINITION

Science define itself as a coherent body of knowledge relating

to certain categories of facts, objects or phenomena obeying
lows and/or verified by experimental methods . There are
several basic sciences that are:
 Math
 Astronomie
 Physis
 Chemistry
 Biologie
 sociologie

II. the Barth of science

The first traces of scientific activities date from the human

civilizations of the Neolithic era where trade and urbanization
developed. Thus, for Andre Picot, in the birth of science,
science was born in Mesopotamia, around -3500, mainly in the
cities of Sumer and Elam. The Feather of modern Is Galileo.
In the 17th century, part of science developed in the context of
the philosophical movement of the enlightenment, where it
was considered necessarily beneficial. The confidence that it
inspires is then absolute, the knowledge having to make it
possible to answer all the questions which arise for man.

II. The importance of science

3
In other word, science is one of the most important avenues of
knowledge. It plays a fundamental role that benefits our
society:
Created new knowledge in multiple fields; improve education
and our quality of life.
Science has made it possible, at the technological, physical,
chemical, astronomical and biological level, to record certain
achievements, which have allowed man to evolve and move
forward to progress and improve his quality of life.
She is the greatest collective enterprise. It allows us to have a
longer and healthier life, to monitor our health, produce
medicines to cure diseases and to relieve aches and pains, it
helps us in the daily supply of drinking water for our needs
fundamentals – including our food, it provides energy and
makes life more pleasant, it intervenes in sport, music,
entertainment and allows us to benefit from the latest
communication technologies. Finals, and Most important, It
fées Our spirit.

III. The advantages and disadvantages of science

1. The avantages of science

Science has many advantages these days. They embrace

several areas and give us a certain comfort. Web have as folles

a. The développement of science

Medicine is the science that deals with everything related to

human health. It studies, critically and authentically analyzes

4
all health problems in order to find a solution for the well-
being of humanity.

b. The développement of biotechnologie

Biotechnology is a science that is at the crossroads of

technology, industrialization and biology. Its main purpose is
the careful study of living organisms in laboratories in order to
achieve a desired end. This science makes it possible to
modify the genes of animal or plant organisms in order to
achieve a specific objective.

c. The Rise of agriculture

Agriculture is an essential sector of activity for the survival of
humanity. It is she who produces everything we consume to be
able to strengthen our body. Science facilitates the
development of agriculture of various manners. It contributes
effectively to the improvement of agriculture production
through the creation of new plants.

d. The développement of industries

Science triggers the creation of sophisticated machines for a

specific purpose. So, this possibility that it offers allows
industries to own machines capable of meeting their
expectations.

e. The Barth of the internet

5
The internet is a network, a crossroads of information on a
global scale. It allows us to be at the heart of the news, of
information, whatever our position in the world. The work of
several scientific fields, it brings together mechanics,
computer science, robotization and technology. Before
accessing it you need a mobile phone or computer with a
proper connection.
f. The development
Development is the improvement, the progress of several
sectors of activity. Science contributes to this by working to
improve and develop several key areas of economic growth.

g. The ease of communication and the circulation of

information in real time

The very first ease that scientific development has brought us

is the ease of communication. We can talk with our close. We
have entertainment on social networks, with games as well as
with hilarious shows. Likewise, we can also earn money
through this network if we manage to be dynamic and skillful.

2. The disadvantages of science

Despite these many advantages, however, science has many
disadvantages on various levels. We are content to present
seven of them to you. We are :
 Air pollution
 Degradation of the ozone layer
 The threat of the animal species
6
 Global warming
 The production atomic bombs
 The increase in conflicts between the great powers
 Idleness
CONCLUSION

I am nearing the end of my presentation, we have learned that

science has allowed its progress and modernization during all
these decades during which it has been able to impose itself in
the evolution of humanity despite these many advantages
explained it gives rise to several disadvantages that harms this
planet.
