1. Introduction

Today, everyone listens to music on their mobile devices; be it on the bus, while commuting to
work, or while working out. However, the way people access their favourite songs has
completely changed over the past few years. Thanks to streaming services such as Spotify,
Pandora, Apple Music and others, listening to music is no longer about owning your favourite
tracks on CD or buying them from an online store. Today you can stream virtually any song at
any time just by signing up for one of these apps and connecting your social media accounts with
them. If you're a heavy music listener who likes to listen to different songs every day or someone
who uses music as a way of relaxing after a long day at work, having a music player app can
make your life much easier.MDU Musix that lets you discover, stream and download millions of
songs from various genres and artists. You can also create your own playlists, share them with your
friends, and listen to podcasts and radio stations. Whether you want to relax, party, study or work
out.

on this project. They have been very helpful and cooperative in sharing their ideas and knowledge.
Finally, we would like to thank our families and friends for their constant love and support
throughout our academic journey. They have always motivated us to pursue our goals and dreams.
This project would not have been possible without the help and support of all these people. We are
deeply indebted to them for their kindness and generosity.

3. Problem Statement

Music lovers need a convenient and personalized way to access and enjoy their favourite songs
and discover new ones because they want to have a satisfying and diverse musical experience
anytime, anywhere. This music application is an online Web site for a music store. The
Application is a virtual showcase for everything related to a music store. The site has information
regarding the latest songs, albums, and artists. An online music application offer the customers,
the chance to hear performances of their favourite artists or their most liked songs.

4. Objectives and Scope

❖ The application will enable a visitor to register with the application.

❖ The application will allow users to search for music based on multiple keywords such as

1
album name, music category, or singer.
❖ The application will enable a registered user to select items such as CDs and cassettes for
purchase using the shopping cart.
❖ The application will also enable a registered user to maintain a Wishlist for future purchase.
❖ The application will enable visitors i.e unregistered users to view the latest releases and chart
Toppers

5. Resources

5.1. Language

 We have used HTML for the webpage framework,

 CSS for the designing and animation,
 JavaScript for controlling the webpage consoles such as the seek button, volume bar, the reactive
buttons to play the song,
 Bootstrap buttons such as the pause, play, next song, previous song, mute, low and high volume

5.2. Tool

We have used VSCode application for our project because of its fast processing, safe usage and the
various in-built HTML, CSS, JS, PHP extension tools. The toolbar is cumbersome at least and has
variety of personalizing styles for good coding experience.

5.3. Server

Xampp server is the best fit for our project. We have used Tomcat server as the application server.

5.4. Current Status

60% has been finished and we are now developing it from the backend.

6. Requirement Analysis of System

The feasibility analysis. This section verified that it is feasible to add music player on the Android
system from the aspects of economic, technical and social feasibility.

6.1. Economic feasibility

To design Android mobile phone music player as long as a computer has the Android development
and the application development of Android is free. In addition, mobile phone music player is basic
needs for public. The information that which functions are necessary form all the consumers , which
functions are needed for some people, and which features are seldom to use is easy to understand.
And a lot of research is eliminated, thus saved the spending. Therefore, the whole process of
development doesn’t need to spend any money that is economic feasibility.
The global music streaming market size was valued at USD 29.45 billion in 2021 and is expected to
expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.7% from 2022 to 2030. The rising
penetration of digital platforms and the growing use of smart devices are anticipated to boost the
market growth over the forecast period. Platforms that allow users to listen to audio and podcasts and
watch music videos are examples of music streaming services. These platforms are gaining
popularity owing to features such as song recommendations, automatic playlist personalization, and
hassle-free connectivity on browsers.

In 2020, the COVID-19 outbreak prompted most countries to impose lockdowns in order to prevent
the virus from spreading. This led to an increasing number of subscribers on music streaming
platforms, such as Spotify, Tencent Music Entertainment, and Amazon Music. Moreover, the
number of subscribers that engage in live streaming on platforms such as Instagram and YouTube
witnessed a surge. In the U.S., video content was already streamed more frequently than audio
content. However, it gained significant popularity during the pandemic. As a result, COVID-19 has
had a significant impact on the expansion of the market for music streaming.

3
The rising use of 5G connectivity has become one of the most popular trends in the global market.
Amazon has capitalized on this opportunity by launching a new music HD service that will provide
lossless music streams and downloads to music enthusiasts in the U.S., the U.K., Germany, and
Japan. With 5G's capability to send data several times faster than 4G, companies will be able to offer
high-fidelity music streams as the technology is more widely adopted. For live streaming music
videos, Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and hologram concerts are expected to gain
wide popularity. Such developments are fueling the growth of the market.
Music streaming suppliers are focused on offering podcasts, song lyrics, and music videos on their
platforms to improve customer experience. Short videos, e-fitness, and other platforms are focused
on acquiring IP rights from music creators and publishers, potentially opening new revenue streams.
For instance, in July 2020, the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA) secured a licensing
agreement with TikTok, a platform with around 100 million U.S. monthly active users and 700
million worldwide monthly active users. Nowadays, the music industry is heavily regulated with a
strong focus on the publishing rights of the music. Moreover, various regulatory amendments have
been made to recognize the rights of music creators in the digital age. While such reforms are
hampering the revenues of music streaming companies, they are likely to benefit from recurring
incomes for the content consumed.

6.2. Service Insights

The on-demand streaming segment captured the largest revenue share of over 70.0% in 2021. This
segment is likely to dominate the market over the forecast period. On-demand streaming services
have substantially restricted illegal music streaming and downloading for all parties, from
distributors to musicians. Moreover, they help improve customer convenience by offering discovery
features and suggestions based on their preferences.
The live streaming segment is anticipated to register the highest CAGR of 16.0% from 2022 to 2030.
The potential of live streaming to reach a larger audience is the primary factor driving the segment.
Live streaming is the process of delivering live content to individuals via the internet in real-time.
Apart from services that are specifically designed for live streaming, several social media outlets also
endorse live videos. The growing popularity of live videos has encouraged musicians to stream live
on sites such as YouTube Live, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter's Periscope. This trend is
anticipated to continue driving the segment over the forecast period.

6.3. Regional Insights

North America accounted for the largest revenue share of above 30.0% in 2021 and is anticipated to
witness significant growth over the forecast period. A significant factor driving the market in this
region is the presence of key market players such as Pandora Media, Inc.; Amazon.com, Inc.; Google
LLC; and Apple, Inc. Furthermore, the high prevalence of fixed wireless internet, smart devices, and
online payment technologies are contributing to the growth of the regional market.
The Middle East and Africa is anticipated to register the fastest CAGR of 17.8% from 2022 to 2030.
Many domestic and international companies are extending their operations in this region. For
instance, in March 2019, Viu, a Hong Kong-based video streaming service provider, debuted its
freemium model of OTT services in South Africa, which include local, regional, and original
content. Furthermore, the market in Asia Pacific is predicted to witness significant growth over the
forecast period. Many players offer streaming services on a freemium basis to maintain the region's
volume-driven market and attract and retain customers.

4
6.4. Key Companies & Market Share Insights

The market is fragmented owing to the presence of numerous global and regional competitors.
Service providers are using a two-step strategy to grow their subscriber base. First, they use
advertising campaigns to enroll people in their freemium platform, and then they pitch them with
appealing offers and discounts to persuade them to upgrade to a paid subscription. Participants in the
sector are also focused on expanding their geographical reach. For instance, in April 2020, Apple,
Inc. introduced its music streaming service in 52 new countries to expand Apple Music's global
reach.
Prominent industry players are pursuing mergers & acquisitions and strategic partnerships to extend
their company presence and thrive in an exceedingly competitive business environment. For
instance, in December 2021, Spotify AB partnered with Tinder, Inc., an online dating and geosocial
networking application, to improve the mood of music for singles during Christmas. Moreover,
companies have introduced the Music Mode feature, Tinder’s biggest update since the Swipe feature.
Music Mode allows users to embed their favorite tunes in their dating profiles. Some prominent
players in the global music streaming market include:

 Apple, Inc.
 Spotify AB
 Amazon.com, Inc.
 Google LLC
 Deezer
 Pandora Media, Inc.

6.5. Technical feasibility

To design a music player which meets the basic requirements, a deep knowledge of Language:
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Tool: VS Code, Xampp Based on the related technology
information and resources for Android on the market, and equipped with technical personnel of
technology and the spirit of willing to learn, the technology is feasible.

6.6. Social feasibility

With the rapid development of the mobile phone market, all kinds of audio and video resources are
widely circulated on the Internet. These resources seem ordinary, but have gradually become an
indispensable part of people life, which derived the development of all kinds of mobile phone player.
But a lot of players devoted to fancy appearance, strong function causing a lot of wasted resources to
the user's mobile phone and bringing a lot of inconvenience to the user as multitasking operation is
needed. Some functions are useless to ordinary people. Powerful player is a good thing, but a lot of
functions are actually useless for most users. Aimed at these problems, developing multiplied audio
player which owns the features of simplified functions, common play function, meeting the needs of
most users, less required memory and high quality of playing music, maximizes the optimization in
performance.

7. Testing of the MDU Musix

We have tested the site on our own to check out the abnormalities we have seen while running the
site. Some of which were:
 The poster and song name not being synchronized.
 Scroll - buttons not working.
 Nonreactive buttons
 Playing of wrong songs

We have overcome theses abnormalities in the following ways:

 We gave the poster images in ‘img’ folder and songs in ‘songs’ folder the same name. So the
song name and path got synchronized and the right songs started playing.
 As for the other problem, we have realized about the synatactical errors and have rectified it
accordingly.
