3. Discussion

In our EPP/TLE class we have


different classifications of fishing
gears. Later we will enumerate it to
you what are those and its examples.

First is Hand Instruments. It is made


of textile, metal, or bamboo,
manipulated by the man. Examples of
this are snare, spear, harpoon, rake,
scoop, and cover pot.

Hand instrument also include


squid/octopus lures and gun, while
barriers and traps include fish pot,
crab pot, squid pot, and fish coral.

Second is Nets. It is a fishing gear


made of woven or knitted fabrics with
openings of uniform size at least in
the individual parts of the net.
Who can give what are the examples The type of nets includes trawl nets,
of nets? Anyone dredges, beach seines, purse seines,
gillnets and cast nets.

Now let’s proceed to the third one.

3rd is Lines instruments. It is attaches


all of the necessary components to
the fishing rod such as hooks, jibs,
bait, bobbers, and etc. The materials

based on numerous factors, most
notably the size and type of the fish
you want to catch.

Last is a Seine. It is one of the oldest


of commercial fishing nets used. It is
primarily capture demersal species
and can be operated from the shore.
They typically are long nets with fixed
ropes attached to each end.

essential tool in catching aquatic
species that are consumed by local
communities. They are extremely
crucial, it plays a vital role and helps
to enhance the commercial
production basis. Also, it’s really a big
help for the fishermen to make their
work more successful specifically
catching those different fishes.

Okay, class this time with the same


group earlier. I want you to
demonstrate the proper way of
handling a fishing gear. I want you to
present it here in front and I will give
30 points to each group who will
participate.
